So, as you can see below, Granger Ford does not have any Rangers in stock. The only one on their website is one that is "Dealer Ordered." which means that if you buy it, you can expect it in February or March, that is if it hasn't already been purchased. If it makes it to their lot unsold, they will add dealer installed options. And I don't know what the invoice price on this particular vehicle is, but it is 6.89% off of MSRP.

I'm not sure anyone has any Rangers. All the nearby dealerships, (about 5 within 20 miles) all show "dealer ordered" or "in transit"

I overheard a salesmen at the dealer I was working at tell a customer on the phone "no one can get rangers".

An amusing aside to this.
When my Dealer said my Ranger arrived, I asked for its VIN so I could have insurance ready a couple days later when I could pick it up.
For fun, I Googled that VIN and it showed up as in stock on about six different Dealers Websites within fifty miles or so.
I can only speculate the various Dealers were covering bases somehow to be sure it would immediately sell if for some reason I didn't follow thru paying for it.

I really hope my dealer doesn’t try anything screwy when my Ranger finally comes in. If they do, I’m out, I’ll go buy a used Prius and find an older southern Silverado or something. Car buying has got to be one of the most miserable shopping experiences. Man I hope one day I’ll be able to buy something other than a Tesla online and just have it delivered and not have to worry about things like COVP, is my rate locked in, will they try to adjust things after arrival, will they accept my x-plan, ect.

Saw $40k market adjustment on a Bronco and $50k on an F150 Raptor.
I rode through the local lot with my brother a few weeks ago an they had a new raptor. $80K sticker with a $15K market adjustment an $2500 of dealer add on junk.

When it's time to move on from the ranger, which I hope isn't for several years, I might have to look for a low mileage used vehicle.

I originally was looking at 2019-2021 model Rangers prior to buying new earlier this year and the prices being asked were no less than a couple grand off of brand new prices.

There's 21 brand new in stock Rangers within a 50 mile distance of me. I think dealer trades are still suspended and most people honestly don't know how to entirely shop online or in my case what I do is scout online using sites like Autotrader or carsforsale.com. That gives dealers a bit of an underhanded edge because it's a sales tactic to push for a sale that benefits the salesman.

I delivered parts for a Ford dealership last summer. They never had new rangers in stock. Never saw one the 5 months I worked there. I would pick up parts from other ford dealerships we didn't have for the service dept an I only saw rangers on one lot that I went to out of six others we worked with. I asked why they got so many new rangers an we never got any an the manager said they were mostly used. I bought mine from the dealer I worked at about 2 an a half years before working there. They had about 30 rangers when I bought mine. That was Dec 2019. They may have had more but I was looking at the 2019's for the $7K rebate.

Earlier this year, I noticed maybe 2 dealers had stock … like maybe a dozen rangers. About half used and half new. One was at least doing Cert Pre-Owned but the prices were literally 95% of the then MSRP on the provided window stickers. Granted, the price creep between years may have made that slightly more appealing … but something about $37k for a 2021 STX with miles on it seemed slightly high.
The other dealer engaged in funny business with Mavericks and attempted similar antics with Rangers …

There's one dealer in my area out of 5, only sells new Fords via orders as of the time so there isn't anything actually new on the lot. They list everything new in stock in inventory but hold it at their other location. I went out there to look before I bought mine, they had nothing new except a couple F Series for show.
