Whoops, my bad, 98. I need to get my eyes checked I guess
The tranny has failed to the point of being an utter safety hazard, and the engine is beginning to run super rough too. It’s too bad, cause when those cars weren’t 25 years old, they were pretty much bulletproof, albeit underpowered. Here it is on an adventure last year. My main design gripe was the separate back glass from the tailgate View attachment 167640

Curious what died in it. I love those 1G CR-Vs, mostly the 99+ when they got the higher compression engine. When the 99 we had got shortened in a wreck I moved the engine, emissions and most of the electrical to my 84 Civic.

Ah, you replied while I was typing. I have a 99 automatic transmission for RT4WD with <100k miles. I didn't need that with the Civic since I wanted a standard transmission.

Nice! My dad used to have a standard 1st gen CR-V. Apparently they only really sold them in New England, so nowadays most of them are rust buckets

I could tell you, but then I’d have to….
Howdee everyone! New to this forum but not new to the Ranger. 1994 XLT 4x4 was my first Ranger and first new vehicle ever. Did a 1997 XLT step side and a 2002 XLT after that. Took a break from them for a while but on 12 January 2023 picked up my most recent. It’s a 2022 (but Gen 6) WildTrak and early reviews are amazing.

The initial shakedown cruise ended up off road in every imaginable condition… from extensive washboards to multiple river crossings to dry river beds, loose sand, heavy rock, dirt, and pavement. Bone stock was phenomenal in all regards.

Interior is exceptional, the large driver info screen is clear and easy to read. Large infotainment screen much the same. Seats are comfortable and well made and the cabin is very quiet. More to follow but so far I’m impressed! Happy to discuss further, but I think y’all will like them!

Name here is Greg. New to this forum, but not Rangers. I have a 2022 Cactus Gray XLT that I bought in February 2023. The dealer had a '23 and the only difference was about $2K more, besides I like the Cactus Gray color. Mine has the WiFi Telematics Modem, but no Navigation. I use Android Auto for Google maps and it works great. My 2018 Fusion has the factory Nav, but I like the Google maps option on the Ranger.

This is my 5th Ranger. I leased 1988, 1989 and a 1990. I bought the 1990 one. Later I bought a 1998 XLT 4x4 (dark gray metallic) until it got quite old 14+ years. Ford discontinued the Ranger back then, so I had a Flex between the 1998 and the 2022.
