Never been one to buy new, but the market and other things made it the right choice for us this time around. Nearly snagged a race red Tremor, but they wouldn't honor X-Plan at that dealership for in-stock. So, here I am with my first choice color, on an FX4, 302a, technology pack, and on 18s.

Doing a bullet liner for the bed and probably the bed lights from Ford. Got my eye out for the right T-Slot rail roll up tonneau cover - thinking Truxedo lo pro. Need to be able to haul a tandem Kayak, too. We usually take my wife's Honda Pilot for camping stuff. But with three kids and a dog, the Ranger will be a huge help.

I really like the Yakima Overhaul HD or Kuat Ibex, but those rack systems get crazy expensive.

Initially I was going to spring for the Fox 2.0 lift/level, but honestly I could see just leveling. 18mos, 3year old, and 5 year old will have a hard enough time getting in as is. Probably should look at some better seat covers, too.

I'm also seeing that group buy for the Livernois tune. My only grip.is locking into premium. I traded in an Ecoboost Flex for the Ranger...you could put whatever octane in and it would adapt. Nice when 93 gets more than a buck above the other grades.

Cheers from another velocity blue Ranger Dad. I was told by my 4 year-old son I could have any truck I wanted so long as it was blue. ?

You'll have a lot of fun. This is the vehicle that says "yes" to every family adventure. And don't worry about the climbing in. My son LOVES the fact that he has to scramble up into his "big truck."

Nobody tell him!

Happy motoring Nate!

This MIGHT have been part of a potty training negotiation where the 3 year old had me over a barrel. At least he has good taste!

Welcome to the forum,,,
I have the Truxedo Lo Pro and have been very happy with it. Take your time lining it up correctly and hardly any water gets in...just a bit at the rear tailgate area under heavy rain or serious washing.
I also have the Bullet Liner spray in, and again, very happy with it and it's quality.
I would recommend, in addition to the spray in liner, get the Bed Mat from Bed Rug. Will be a very worthwhile addition when you need to get into/crawl into the bed....will save lot's of wear n tare on your knees and hands. Have had mine, and the Lo Pro for almost 2 years, and both still look and perform as new.

And, beware of the guy below me ....he will have you buying gallons of 303 stuff, damper's and all other kinds of stuff !!!!!

Welcome Nate. One good thing about the Livernois tune is you don't have to run premium. You get the 87-89 soft shift and performance tunes along with it. Don't worry because we'll find a way to spend the money you saved using regular. ?

I did swipe the ignition cylinder trim ring from my Trade in…. But it’s not really going in. I didn’t pay attention and can’t tell if these are manual side mirrors or if I’m just not seeing the adjustment button.

For the yakima overhaul keep an eye on rei. I bought my entire rack for ~20% off using coupons and sales...

I love mine.

If you are going to add a bed cover, keep an eye on carry capacities on and offroad. The yakima goes from like 500 on road to 300 on road when you install it over a tonnou (sp) cover. (check out diamond back bed covers for rugged heavy duty covers)

Thanks for the REI tip. I keep hemming and hawing over the weight limits, but don’t plan on doing a RTT so I can’t see it being a real issue. Beyond that I guess just making sure I REALLY want the tonneau cover. I think it’s good bet to do both.

A RTT is maybe even fine. You are not driving with people sleeping in the tent. It’s just a static load (vs bouncing weight while driving). If it can take 500lbs on the road it can certainly do more parked.
