Looks like i won't be driving a Maverick. Ford emailed me today to tell me that my Maverick had been delivered. I called the dealer today and they sold it out from under me to someone else.

Then the General Manager, whom I've spoken with half a dozen times since January, and had placed the Maverick order for me, told me it was my fault and that I'm lucky because I have a Ranger on order as well....

I'm pretty sure they gave my Maverick to someone who paid a "market adjustment" for it.

I called Ford just now and filed a complaint with them. It's too bad, because up until the truck arrived they were very nice to me. I was starting to think this is a great dealership. Guess I was wrong
I'm confused. In the original post you already stated your Maverick order had been sold by the dealer to someone else, and you then cancelled the Ranger order also. Did I miss something?

The original post has been edited to reflect the current situation. What we see now is not what was there yesterday.

I agree on that , hell , WV still don't have GAS infrastructure in some places, it would be a work / errand truck for me . . .wish they would have named it differently, my memories of the Maverick are not very encouraging... El Rancho maybe ? At least the El Rancho trim pkg... or , and feel free to use this Ford , the E Rancho ! Car truck thingy ! IM on FIRE ! ?
Aye, we are one of the states where bigger gas tanks are better when on remote adventures.

I've owned two F150s and a Transit Connect. And TBH i kind of liked the van better because I could tease 30mpg out of it on the highway. It was just less frustrating to own, even if i couldn't take it off road. But what's always stuck in my head is a 5k mile overland trip we did to New Mexico in my last F150 that cost me $2400 for gas.
Wait, what!? How many gallons of fuel did you use????

I ask myself that all the time ? Not to start a "door war " but come on ? I dont care how uncomfortable the people in the back are ...
Same for me! I would have bought a Tremor in a hearbeat had it been available in a SuperCab. And I didn't even want the 4x4 to start. I just wanted more payload room in the bed.

It's too bad that there seems to be no integrity when it comes to the Ford dealers. And that Ford's system does not allow for Ford to REALLY do anything to that dealer other than give them a slap on the wrist for this kind of unethical business practice. At least you learned to never frequent that dealer for service. If they are that unethical when it comes to the sale, who knows what other shortcuts they are taking when it comes to vehicle service as well.

BTW - in my area the market adjustment for Mavericks was $10K! $10K on a $28K vehicle!

I'd love your Tremor if it came in a Super Cab. Why do Super Cab owners always get the shit end of the stick eh?
Amen Brother ! I bought a 2k20 Supercab .Love it. Wish I could have gotten more options. Got
the most I could get but would love better headlights, better sound system and lord help if I could get an automatic sliding back glass . My goal was a sunroof but with the interior design ,that's wishful thinking.

Yep! Sales tax in Tacoma is 10%. The downside to living in a state with no Income Tax.

I suspect my dealer will put it on the lot for $3k-$5k above MSRP. MSRP on this truck is $46k.
The tax scoundrels will get you anyway possible...

I wonder what the income/property tax is like in bordering Oregon, being that there is no sales tax there?

Many, many Hawaii residents (including myself) took advantage of a Hawaii state tax loophole in which if you had bought a new vehicle in Oregon, drove it 1K miles and shipped it to Hawaii, you were exempt from Hawaii new vehicle sales tax because the vehicle would be considered used.

I did exactly this when I took delivery of a new '00 Ranger in Nov. 1999 in Portland, drove it south to Oakland, CA and shipped it home to Honolulu.

This went on for many years until the HI state tax bean counters did their homework. I believe that now the vehicle must be registered in your name in Oregon state for 6 months, if I am not mistaken you must also provide proof of residency there for that duration to avoid the new car sales tax when landed in Hawaii.

As I said, they'll get you anyway possible...:curse:

In Ontario we pay 13% sales tax on top of federal and provincial income taxes. Plus gas taxes, booze taxes, cigs. It never stops.
Jeez...I thought we had it bad in Hawaii!

I'm surprised the bean counters in your fair province have not yet figured out a way to tax you on the air you breathe!

Senator on the floor: "Now I'm going to tax your memories..."

Senator Ted Kennedy: "Now why didn't we think of that sooner?"

You haven't seen pot holes until you've driven through Michigan. Ontario is a modern paved paradise in comparison
Have you ever driven in Honolulu, where potholes are the norm rather than the exception?

We've road surfaces here which would make a 3rd. world country engineer cringe!

And...we don't have to deal with frost heaves and the like here such as balmy Michigan does!

:curse:  :curse:
