My point was exactly that , your buying the Maverick for a very specific reason , but then modifying it to where it's not as good at the very thing you bought it for as it should be ...but it's a truck , and a nifty one from what I've seen , if they go all electric , I'm in ...
If they go hybrid FX4 AWD I'm in.

I'd like to say that I would get e new Ranger if they offered hybrid but it looks like it's going to be bigger, and the current Ranger is at the limit of size I will accept.

Not enough infrastructure yet in the areas I drive for full EV.

A few more years and it will probably be there.

OP, enjoy your Maverick.

I've driven several of them and they are a nice vehicle, especially with EB and AWD.

I'm just surprised that you were able to find one.

I agree on that , hell , WV still don't have GAS infrastructure in some places, it would be a work / errand truck for me . . .wish they would have named it differently, my memories of the Maverick are not very encouraging... El Rancho maybe ? At least the El Rancho trim pkg... or , and feel free to use this Ford , the E Rancho ! Car truck thingy ! IM on FIRE ! ?

My partner just bought a Tacoma TRD Off Road.
I’m sorry.

We decided we didn't need two very similar trucks, and something with better mileage makes more sense for daily driving.
You wouldn’t have two very similar trucks. You’d have one vastly superior truck and a Tacoma.

I’m just teasing you a little bit OP. In all honesty I hope you truly enjoy your Maverick. I actually contemplated getting one myself. Happy driving!!

I lost that argument!!! Taco fans are a cult.

Nothing you can do to convince them.

2" and up one tire size is rather minor mod on a vehicle like this. I just don't like the shoes that come with it. That's all. I have done mods like this on nearly every vehicle I've owned, and all to suite what I am using them for, not what Ford is specking them to do.

I'll agree with all electric. I'd love a Maverick sized truck that's a full EV. I have a reservation for a LIghtning, but I'm not sure I'll ever actually buy one. Ford is a bit behind on battery/charging tech, and I'm hoping this is my last ICE vehicle.

I've been driving a plug-in Escape Hybrid for the past year. The EV only mode is very nice. But it's underwhelming to drive on the highway, and the EV only range is no longer enough for my needs. It would be a great car if it had 300 miles of EV range and ditched the ICE system.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
You haven't seen pot holes until you've driven through Michigan. Ontario is a modern paved paradise in comparison
I agree with you, we were back in the Flint/Grand Blanc area and damn the roads suck! felt like I needed 4WD just to get around.

Looks like i won't be driving a Maverick. Ford emailed me today to tell me that my Maverick had been delivered. I called the dealer today and they sold it out from under me to someone else.

Then the General Manager, whom I've spoken with half a dozen times since January, and had placed the Maverick order for me, told me it was my fault and that I'm lucky because I have a Ranger on order as well....

I'm pretty sure they gave my Maverick to someone who paid a "market adjustment" for it.

I called Ford just now and filed a complaint with them. It's too bad, because up until the truck arrived they were very nice to me. I was starting to think this is a great dealership. Guess I was wrong

Thats pretty damn dirty , but most likely exactly what happened ... somebody paid WAY to much for a Maverick if thats any consolation to ya , and now that your not getting it , WASNT A REAL TRUCK ANYWAY!!! ..... unless your getting another one i mean ...

I went the other way. Maverick on order and ended up with a Ranger. The only thing they asked was for me to reply to the Grats! Email when the Mav finally arrived to say why I got a Ranger. Something about inventory allocation from Ford.

She.

And my wife wanted a Taco more than I wanted the Ranger. LOL. But yeah, I reevaluated. We do a lot of highway only driving, and need one vehicle that's a bit better suited to pavement miles. The Tacoma will be our Overland rig. I'll likely do a 2" lift on the Maverick and add bigger tires, just in case we do take it off road.
My bad! Didn't even look at the name, was just confused why people were giving you so much crap for changing your order and I banged out a response real quick lol. Edited my original post.

The Maverick/Tacoma combo will cover your bases well! (If you can even get a Maverick now, can't believe the dealer did you dirty like that.)

Yep! Sales tax in Tacoma is 10%. The downside to living in a state with no Income Tax.

I suspect my dealer will put it on the lot for $3k-$5k above MSRP. MSRP on this truck is $46k.
Or you can live in California which has income tax and 10% sales tax :) Just sayin'

Sorry about that mess with the dealer, I would be upset for sure! The need to make it up to you somehow.
