It is not...
I would doublecheck Fuse #36 in the BCM, that fuse powers the Auto-Dim mirror and also check with meter on the connector for power.
Blue/Brown = Power
Black / Grey = Ground
Green / Brown = Reverse Signal Wire

If fuse is good and you have verified power and ground, then it's the adapter.

Question: I have a 2020 ranger with the same under dash fuse panel. I purchased Micro3 fuse add on similar to yours. I used the spare fuses 11 and 20 which are 3 pole fuses. However the add on fuse holder doesn’t fit. It’s a little too thick. I had to file the plastic a little to make it fit in the slot. Did you have similar issues? Fuse 11 is constant power and fuse 20 is ignition. Both spares from what I found online.
I don't remember the size fuse taps I got. I did order two different ones and one did fit perfectly.

Low profile: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LFXA5XM/

Micro2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LFXA5YQ/

Hmm, looking back at my install thread: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/thre...-your-ranger-today.3511/page-1342#post-607735, the dashcam also came with different fuse taps - so I'm not sure at all about which fuse tap is correct! Sheesh, memory of a gnat!

Good luck and Happy Holidays! =)

Thank you, I will try that. It is better when you know what you should expect.

Piggybacking on this thread since it's the newest , but it seem posts on the forum are 50/50 on which way to orient the fuze tap. My understanding is the far side from the outgoing wire should be on the hot side of thr fuze. Unfortunately my multimeter leads are too fat to fit down in the fuze slot.

I checked it using the fuze tap with only the added dashcam fuze inserted and oriented so it did not let any current through without the original fuze in the first slot which was for me was with the fuze slots facing down/wire heading to the right.

Is this correct? The other way around would seem to defeat the purpose as it would bypass the original fuze.

I did confirm removing the 30Amp orignal fuze but my battery tap at 26 does kill power to the cam.

Depending on if you want always hot or switched
Not Used (Power for the BCM)

BCM Not Used Power Sources.webp

Orientation does not matter (Up or Down) as long as the OE Fuse is installed closest to the fuse box, and it is rated higher (or equal) to the fuse you are adding

I missed this whole thread. Dongar looks interesting.

@hughesjv did you find your problem?

The Dongar 3-pin Type B is an easy install on the 2019 Ranger. This is quick: pop off plastic cover, unplug the auto dim connector then plug in the pigtail. Replace the plastic cover and plug in dash cam.

Less than a 5 minute job.

I agree with Steve, although mine took longer than 5 minutes. Fwiw Jim, I did mine when it was ~5* outside. My main concern was to not break the tabs on the plastic cover (they did not break). Just warmed the interior until I was comfortable and got it done.
