1,2 switcharoo. New battery from Ford in place. Surprised the new battery didn’t come with the fuses. 🤨

Ive never seen a battery come with fuses. It's not part of the battery. Are yours blown out?

I reused mine when I replaced the battery.

I started looking for that fuse online and I think he must have been referring to the entire circuit breaker assembly. Itā€˜s $289 CAD MSRP.

EDIT: Information from Benny at Levittown Ford added from another thread. The fuse is not available from Ford but the entire assemblies are…

Yes, for some reason - Ford does NOT have a separate part number in their system (USA) for the simple fuse and the only way to get the fuse from Ford is to get the complete BMFL Assembly.
At one point I found the Ford PN for the 225 Amp Fuse (ROW) but lost it (Grr), but the actual MFG number is the Flosser 8048225-part number.

Pretty sure that is a standard fuse you can buy online. I have one in my toolbox of a different amp. Probably from car audio.
I have seen them on AliExpress for $2.50 for a 200A or 250A I have not seen a 225A
If mine ever blows I will just stick a 10gage wire there...

No they weren’t blown out just figured the new battery had them mounted already.

No as it is part (an extension) of the battery cable to incorporate the (Fuse Links) into the wiring vs old school (Imbedded) into the wire. Now instead of trying to find the hidden fuse links, they are mounted on top of the battery and are now a physical fuse that functions as a fusible (slow blow)
fuse.

Is that an after-market battery blanket?

Mine has mouse holes and, if it's aftermarket, obviously I need one! =D

Even if yours didn’t have holes in it I’m guessing you’d still ā€œ need oneā€. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

I swear, some people make things soooo complicated.

Fuses, smuzes, ..

For the battery, you should step up to a nickel, just saying.

I prefer the fuses with audiovisual alert:

Wow - that’s very interesting. When my battery died, I had roadside assistance take my truck to the dealer. The guy who showed up cooked the fuse when using his jump pack to get it running so he could back it off the property to get it onto his flatbed. He left the jump pack attached while he drove out the dirt lane and things got bounced around - It’s a bit rutted.

Anyway, the battery was replaced under warranty and the service advisor said the blown fuse was a costly $275 mistake but that the towing company was taking care of it. Since the battery was covered under warranty, I figured that was the cost of the fuse. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
How did you get the battery covered under warranty? When I bought my Ranger, they were very specific that the battery was NOT covered...

Tried staring my Ranger this morning but wouldn’t. The dash lit up and sync display but cut out immediately followed by the sound of relays clicking near the battery.
How can I go about testing the battery? I used a fluke voltmeter to measure and had 9.0vDC. Should I remove the battery and take it to AutoZone for testing?
My truck is a late 2019 with 67k miles, original battery.. maybe it’s just time. I also see some forums about a battery maintainer
I upgraded to the bigger, larger capacity battery, 1355852 G H7(94R)AGM $216 @ Costco. The insulator wrap for standard battery wouldn't fit & couldn't find the one for the larger battery, so had to combine 2 to cover it, kind of a PITA.

I got my first one covered because I was about a year into owning it when it died. I had an excellent service writer at the time and he seemed to have no problem having original warranty cover it.
