I agree with several others here on the name. I think the actual vehicle is kinda cool for what it is, I just wish they would have called it the "Ford Mach E" and left the mustang name out of it. They did however get everyone talking about it, which I guess is a win in Ford's book.

It is amazing how technology advances as time speeds along. I remember being in love with that cobra R as a kid. Now I'm about to have a mustang with the same power and half the cylinders. Absolutely wild. Intercooler comes tonight, then the tuning process begins.

I was in the dealer yesterday near me and saw a new Bronco Sport and a Mach-E. They both looked nice and will probably sell well just based on looks.

One major advantage to buying a New Mach-E vs other electric car is the $7500 tax credit.

Mach-E AWD with extended battery would cost 55k and max range is 270 miles, then subtract $7500 tax credit.
Another brand electric SUV has AWD and long range at 47k and 326 miles.

In my opinion the Mach-E would be great for local trips but the potential 60 mile range difference is a lot during long road trips.

Charging wise

Ford Connected Charge Station 240V/48A10.9 hours*28 miles*
Ford Mobile Charger using 240V/30A NEMA 14-50 wall outlet15 hours*20 miles*
Ford Mobile Charger using standard 120V/12A wall outlet95 hours*3 miles*

Another brand electric SUV charging on 220v/48A yields 42mph charge
Another brand electric SUV charging on 220v/30A yields 35mph charge
Another brand electric SUV charging on 110v/12A yields 6mph charge

I'm not even gonna go into long distance charging as ford has very little fast chargers deploy. I sure wouldn't want to try a cross country trip in the Mach-E

I drove one of these back in the day. Never lost a pursuit.

I'm f'n jealous! I'm five-oh and my Mustng is a 5.0. I'd absolutely LOVE an old SSP notchback!
The closest I ever got to one of those was while talking with a Highway Patrolman. My city was small, and they always bought the biggest cheapest piece of crap they could get. Most of them wouldn't even get out of their own way. :)

But the wife drives this, and I get to play from time to time now.

Another thing to remember is extreme cold can reduce range a lot, up to 40%.

Apparently the Mach E is doing pretty well

Mach E Steals Sales From Tesla

I wonder how much of that was also due to Teslas no longer being eligible for the $7500 tax credit.

I was just looking at the numbers. A mach E stays on the dealers lot an average of 4 days until sold. Pretty solid start. It's probably a combo of looks, performance and I'm sure the tax credit doesn't hurt either.

I guess it has a lot to do with aerodynamic design, but it seems like 99% of e-cars put out have the most dull unimpressive looks I've seen in a while. I suspect sales would increase if they could keep the mileage numbers, but make them look like something more than a basic bare bones entry level trim level vehicle.

That is a nice Mach 1
Thanks. Bought it right off the showroom floor back in 2003. That was a fun car. With 4.10 gears it was always in the sweet spot for torque.
