Seems likely. No reason Ford would maintain two versions of the 2.3 engine. Also the port/direct injection seems to be the industry standard in recent years for new internal combustion engines.

I agree with JasonTremor. But it might come later in the Ranger as they work the bugs in the Mustang.

Late to the game. Ford now has three versions of the 3.5 V6 so two versions of the 2.3 doesn't seem unlikely. 3.5 NA, 3.5 DI EB, and the 3.5 DI/port injection EB
