I've been thinkng about buying one from copart in order to pull the engine/transmission/transfercase from for a storage spare. This one which is local to me has caught my eye " 2021 FORD RANGER XL for Sale | CO - DENVER SOUTH | Thu. May 25, 2023 - Used & Repairable Salvage Cars - Copart USA " . The fact that it is a tremor and I could strip suspension and the seats out of it makes it extra tempting. Unfortunately, the wife has put the veto on that idea so far.

I've been checking Copart daily to see if MP1 was there and today it was. Sad to see it looking like this, 4 years of hard work down the drain. But if anyone needs a transmission it still has 62,636 miles until it explodes!?

While I admit it was dirty it wasn't that dirty. lol That looks like it went through a Mad Max movie!

How many pairs of shoes or purses does she have??? All you want is one extra motor and transmission combo, and a few other important backup parts. She needs to reconsider??

Just whip open the closet doors to her wardrobe and then ask… Should we add it all up? Even with depreciation I bet the wrecked Ranger wins out for cheapest package price.

The leather seats (yes the airbags went off, but I can get them restitched easy enough), and possible better ride from the tremor suspension are a better argument. At the right price, I could probably come out ahead if I really stripped it down once I get what I want. I did that in the past with a Probe GT that I owned when it needed a new engine, result was an extra $4K in my pocket all said and done, and that was on a car whose value wasn't much above $4k untotaled.

I've had several replaced by Safelite in both my Rangers. They always ask if I want the Ranger branded windshield or some other brand that'll fit and I choose the branded one every time.

you know I wasn't even given a choice 2 weeks ago. where would I notice the difference?
