  1. Terrain Contact H/T

So I installed Continental Terrain Contact H/T in 265/65 R17 to replace the stock Hankook Dynapro ATMs. In part this was a planned replacement as I was going to do so before winter as the dynapros weren't confidence inspiring in the limited snow I encountered soon after buying the Ranger. In...
  2. Sync3 Issues

This has more to do with the latest version of Pandora than the Ranger IMHO. I upgraded Pandora on my phone to the latest version a couple weeks ago, and ever since I did that I have problems with it crashing, randomly stop playing and restart, starting songs over again, pausing, or skipping to...
  3. Anyone added additional headliner sound deadener?

Heavy rain+'21 ranger+hearing aids leads to pretty much being deafened after 30 seconds as each raindrop sounds like a kitchen pot being drummed with a hammer.
  4. What did you let go to get your Ranger?

A silver 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 67k miles. I bought it in 2018 with 54k miles for 5k after trading in a 04 Camry with 172k because the transmission was going bad. The Fusion went to my brother who is enjoying the 38+ mpg it gets on the Highway. I miss the 36 it was getting in the city...
  5. What did you do to your Ranger today?

    Fx4 Sticker delete.
  6. Key stuck in spare tire crank lock!!

Indeed. I have the keyed securityplug but I have it hanging out in the glovebox. I would rather chance the spare getting stolen rather than getting stuck somewhere because I destroyed the key trying to fix the ops original issue.
  7. Key stuck in spare tire crank lock!!

It is also a deleted item on later model Rangers, so you may not have one being a '23 owner.
  8. I’m thinking of a 6 speed manual. Thoughts?

The easiest/cheapest way would likely be to just buy a vehicle with a manual. You might be able to do a swap from a Bronco, and might after a long and intensive set of work setup either a Bronco ECU/TCU to work with the Ranger, or get the Ranger ECU/TCU to work like a Bronco manual, but...
  9. Ford Ranger PHEV Out Next Year, Coming To U.S

The current Explorer (non hybrid) in North America currently has a curb weight of 4345 lbs to 4727 lbs depending on trim per: 2021 Explorer Tech Specs (ford.com) the 3.3 Limited Hybrid per the same source weights 4969 lbs. The Euro PHEV Explorer hybrid weighs 2466 kg (5425 lbs) per...
  10. Ford Ranger PHEV Out Next Year, Coming To U.S

If they are going to go PHEV then I'd expect something on the order of the 14.4 kwh packs used in the Escape PHEV. That pack weighs 6-700 lbs full of coolant so the hit to payload/towing will be there. I'm not sure you would get an all electric mode if the reuse the hybridized 10spd from the...
  11. Global multi leaf rear spring, anybody know spring design?

    I believe you want JB3C-5560-TE .
  12. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

The Firestones are solid tires from the ratings and reviews online. I'm planning on the continental tires myself because they match my use in Colorado and have slightly better reviews and test results for packed ice/snow, and I have been very impressed the General RT43s (sister company) I've...
  13. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

If you do go the Firestone LE3 route, tirerack.com has a pretty good offer on them now with rebate. If you drive mostly in unpacked deep snow/mud an A/T or M/T tire will do well. If the snow conditions are mostly hardpacked snow/ice and or snow up to 3-4 inches a H/T tire with good ice...
  14. Wood screw at corner of tread/wall and plugged -- drive it, or replace?

Replace, that's a sidewall blowout waiting to happen. For mostly street/highway use I'm looking at replacing my tires with Continental Terrain Contact H/T as they are one of the higher rated All Seasons with good light snow/ice rating and high tread life at a decent price. I've had good...
  15. Anyone else think the next gen trucks (4G ranger, new Taco, new Canyon) are WAY overpriced with crap gas milege ?

The poor gas mileage and high price goes hand in hand with the bloating size. The 5g Ranger is comparable in size with 8th/9th gen f150s. If you want good fuel economy you have to shrink the size. The trend though is to bigger and taller.
  16. Why do people like hitting Rangers?

Glad you're ok. Unfortunately given other her examples like that in the he forum that looks totaled.
  17. Guesses on hail damage?

I apparently got luck lucky. There were a half dozen dents on the hood and roof that came out after parking it in the sun sand applying ice. There is one left on the hood that didn't he come out that way. I tried getting pics but they didn't v really show up with the cell phone camera.
  18. Guesses on hail damage?

Near the Southglenn Mall. Wife's car was hit two weeks ago near the centennial airport. Estimate from the paintless dent repair place that the insurance co requested we use was $3500 but they can't get her in for three months due to the backlog of work from that storm. Still trying to find...
  19. Guesses on hail damage?

Hard to get pics of the truck when it's still raining and there is no light because of the overcast. They will come tomorrow. Some sizeable dents in the backflip cover which surprises me. I expected it to hold up better.
  20. Guesses on hail damage?

Just had a hail storm roll through, Ranger doesn't v for in the garage and I worked from home today. Anyone want to take a guess on damage amount? I still have temporary tags on it...
