Morimoto XB Mod. Amber DRLs.

Has anyone tried changing the wiring of the Morimoto XB headlights to make the DRL’s amber? I watched a YT video of a XB installation on a Tacoma that showed changing the wires in the harness to use the amber turn signals as the DRL, and still have them function as turn signals. Essentially removing the white LEDs from the equation entirely. So I’m wondering if the same results were possible with the Ranger.

I don't know but you might want to check if amber DRL's are are legal in your state first.

If the F150 or Bronco Raptor are available near you… you should be fine.

Why would it matter? Parking lights are amber. Why couldn’t the DRLs count as parking lights.

DRLs are great for driving at night with no other lights on. Just ask half the population that does that. They are absolutely pointless and would be safer in amber. People would be more inclined to use their actual headlights then.

Inspection station gave me shit about the Silverstar turn signals in my old Sport Trac because they're ice blue until I turned them on and showed them they light up amber.

The Morimotos for a Taco are customizable to change the color (via plug adapter) the Ranger version does not have that option.

Well, that’s certainly unfortunate. I was really hoping there would be a similar way to manipulate the Ranger wiring as well.?
