Hello all,

So I'm sure some of you have thought at least once about the Morimoto Fog Lights. Well I thought about it too and finally decided to pull the trigger.

Now I decided to go with a yellow for the fact that it helps with Snow, Fog, Rain and Dust. I had a hard time believing that but with my Headlights and Fogs having drop in Beam Tech 6,500K bulbs Snow was a pain in the ass to navigate.

Light output, well Morimoto does state the putput is 1,200 lumens. What that translates to in Lux? No idea but that doesnt matter too much. Color temp? 3,000 for the yellow. Will they shine past you Headlights? Aimed correctly no, but then again they are not Headlights.

Now unlike a fair bit of you I do not have a place to setup for light aim so i had to do guess work for aiming the Fog Lights.

How do they compare to the headlights for the road output? Pretty well I think. They do blend in a little bit but also help the lights have the correct color for Snow and stuff.

Here are some pictures I took of the on road output with both Headlights and Fog Lights along with each by themselves!!

Also the Morimoto part numbers are LF010 for white and LF011 for yellow

I should add that install can be done fairly easily. T25 torx bit with a 1/4 drive ratchet is about the only tool needed. For aiming you will need an 8mm socket.

Time for install? If you already removed the air dam then about 1 hour. Time to aim the lights? A few minutes

Ok so I went to a big open and dark parking lot to give a better idea of the light output. Mind you my headlights are factory reflectors with drop in LED lights at 6500k. This includes brights this time

I have a little and I can tell you that the light is close to the truck where you cant do long distance in the dark without headlights.

Would you be able to post some pictures of what the fog lights themselves look like? Are they the black look with projector?

They are also a little wider than the Alpharex headlights as you see. Now they dont shoot as far but then again it is a fog light and not a driving light
For sure.

I just don't want to overpower my Lariat LEDs and fill the whole pattern with amber is all. And didn't want to have to install twice to change lenses.

Although, as powerful as the Squadron Pros are I might not be able to run them full time on the Ranger anyways.

Think I'll give the amber a go.

I've already got the lights, I pulled them out of another vehicle. Just waiting to hear from Baja Designs if the mounting bracket is the same and deciding on which of my lenses to use.

Thanks though.

@Frenchy, how did you aim them? I already have everything buttoned up, will I have to tear down the front end again?
