Maybe just get some good front shocks that allow using stock springs but with selectable lift. Like Eibach pro truck. You can select from 0 lift to 3" of lift in 0.75" increments.
Shocks don’t provide lift, springs provide lift.

I used Eibach’s adjustable coil overs on the front to make it more level. I adjusted them to the same height as the rear, measured at the fender edge, which was lower than how Eibach had set them.
Mounted 265/70/18 tires and now have to step up into truck.

That looks great, and I see that you have the “boomer-approved” chrome trim, just like me. I like your wheels better than the PVD fake-chrome set on my garage shelf.

It's like Dfresh said, the spring deal is gone, but you can dearch any spring, it was $135 at a local spring shop in Sun Valley Ca called Riteway, and yes you may need to adjust the pinon angle.
As for load capacity, it wont change actually but what will happen is it will be on the bump stops sooner, I have towed a heavy tongue weight trailer, it was right at the stops, but I have the shorter stops.
I always level vehicles by lowering the rear, but the Ranger is a little tougher than most.

This is my STX SE 2WD with a level kit and stock tires. It was done by the dealer, so not really sure if it was 2 or 2.5", but probably just pucks on the front springs. Nothing added on the rear.

What don't some of you get about not raising the front? It's about lowering the back for better access to the bed, leveling is only part of it. Don't like the jacked up look, and still want it to fit in my garage.

The current springs are pretty flat already so dearching them enough would probably make them suseptable to flipping. Also would probably also need to shorten so shackles wouldn't bottom out on frame. Better to do an axle flip and use higher arch springs.

The Eibach front shocks had several grooves with a snap ring you could set lift up to 3".

Has anyone tried removing the factory helper spring in the rear? Probably would only drop it a .5" but its something.

If you want a 2" rear drop, why not use the Belltech 2/4 kit?

That's a 2" front by 4" rear. Don’t want to change the front, just lower the rear 2".

You're right.

While I knew that, I was thinking it was 2"or 4" rear for some reason.:headbang:

Here’s another idea, put your rear springs under the axel and if it’s too low add shackles to lift and level.
That may be the cheapest option (besides adding donuts to the top of your coil overs) if you can do the work yourself. There may even be a kit out there by now.

A rear axle flip with stock shackles gets a 6" rear drop, that's how the Beltech kit works. To get that up to just a 2" drop would require ~8" extended shackles. That will really compromise the stability of the rear end. Need different or modified rear springs. If someone makes some 4" lift multi leaf springs I might be interested.

Once again, do not want to do anything with the front. Coilover spacers are a hard NO.

Yep, as Big Blue mentioned, both my rearched springs failed at flaws on the steel.

I'd had 3 inches or arch added then flipped the axle on top of them.. Initial result was lower than hoped followed with 1st the driver's failing on the road, then the passenger's failing while parked.

Perhaps straightening the long leaf, then flipping the short leaf over for a negative arch when loaded could work.

The fun and joys (and frustrations), of blazing your own trail is rewarding, but not a path everyone can take.
