You might not be able to order a 2022 now and Lord knows how long until you can get a 2023.
I sort of lucked out. I went to the dealer near my work 13 months ago fully intending to order a 2021 with the X-Plan through my employer. Shortages were just starting and used car prices had not jumped yet. Almost everything that every dealer had in stock was a silver or grey Supercrew and I wanted a Supercab in red or blue. But....someone had traded in a 2020 Supercab after 5 months and 5000 miles on a F-150 because the Ranger wasn't big enough so I got a better deal than an X-Plan and it was 95% what I wanted anyway.... STX, 4x4, tow package, one of the colors I wanted, no step bars. It only had the factory bedliner that I didn't want and no rear locker that I did want.

My cousin owns a used car lot and repair shop and he's told me that because of supply chain issues and defects he wouldn't buy a 2021 or 2022 anything, he's seen too much bad stuff already.

Ordered in Nov '21 to take advantage of a spike in used vehicle prices to trade in my Frontier '19 for what I believed was the max amount I was going to get. At that point almost no news of the '23 refresh had come out. Had I known I might have held off further. Knowing what I know now by then we would have found out my wife was pregnant & she would have gotten the new vehicle lol. '23 refresh looks awesome & I hope it does well. Maybe I can get one down the line. Right now I'm super happy with my '22.

My Ranger is paid for and I love it. At some point in maybe 5 years I may get rid of it and I will see what is out there. My last was a 2012 Tacoma TRD Off Road. When I drove the Ranger it wasn't even close as far as how much more comfortable it was. I am 6'3 and In the taco when looking straight ahead I was looking through the top of the windshield. The size of the taco cab is the exact same as it was in 2005. So I will just see what I need/want in maybe 2026.

As far as I know they are still taking 2022 Ranger orders, but that could change at anytime. If you want one get it ordered soon.
