About to have to get new tires and was wanting to size up but I also don't want to have do any modifications. What size is recommended? I have a 2021 STX with stock 265/60R18. I also want to put them on my stock wheels. I did the ole ChatGPT prompt and it said I could do 275/65R18 without mods but I wasn't sure how true that was. Want to get some real human feedback lol.

Here’s what I did, see what you think. 2025 Ranger Lariat with stock 255 65R18 Goodyears. After combing through the forums I bought Black Diamond take-offs from Bronco with 700 miles on them. LT265 70 R17’s General Grabber ATx, load Range C, severe weather (snowflake/moutains icon). No drivability issues, clears everything well. The only thing you may need is TPMs sensors if you cannot use yours.

If you move the crash bars to their most forward angle, you can usually get away with 285/65r18 (285/70r17). I ran the 28570r17 on my stock Ranger and *barely* kissed the crash bar in reverse, but I hadn't moved the crash bars forward yet. All tire manufactures vary in their physical sizes vs claimed sizes. BFG runs a tad small. Your best bet it so have a local shop do a test fit. If you're near a Discount Tire/ America's Tire, they will do that before you buy the tires to make sure they are going to fit.

If you want to be safe, 268/70r18 is only 5% bigger than the OE 265/65r18 and should fit without any problems. Again though, have someone test fit them for you. That is the only way to know what will fit.

Joe, our 24 and newer Rangers are different than the previous generation. What works here may or may not work on our Rangers, and vice versa.
Dave is right. There are a few threads here with definitive answers to how big with no mods. I ran 255/75/17 on my 2022 Ranger.

I know it's not much bigger, but if I went from a 265/60R18 to a 265/65R18, do you think that would cause any issues?

Mine came with 265/65R17 from the factory and as stated above, I went up to 265/70 with no issues.

I know the wheel positioning is different, our frames are wider and longer. Our shocks are outside the frame not inside, different tow hook points, so what that equals for tires and suspension i do not know. Hell it could be the same, but just the frame being different, has to be big difference, right? I do not claim to know, just figure our vehicles are too different. I know our center consoles are larger, and we have more cab space.
6g ranger forum might have more info. I just do not hang out there. Only mods i want is how to make it a heavy duty ranger. Lol

I took a different approach on the wheel/tire/level combination than most of the other members on here.
I have a 17×9 wheel with the stock size tires, all season Goodyear Wrangler HTs, with 5100s all the way around with fronts set at 1.8.
