So what about the autospring helper leaf? It says it adds an additional 700lbs of capacity, but I honestly have no idea how those differ from the OME's.
Can't say. It's more of a helper spring and I'm not a fan of the helper springs unless it's built into the factory suspension like some leafs.

Not going to lie, its about half cost of a full leaf pack replacement.

ugh, not really $700 I was looking to spend...

So some quick searching it looks like a leaf helper may be more suitable for me short term. It doesn't raise the ride height or alter travel, it simply helps with heavy loads.

New leafs will add height and other benefits like new travel, some are adjustable, etc etc

I am hoping a leaf helper is in fact more suitable for me. Sigh. Least my wallet hopes so.

There are the Deavers HD springs as well to consider. Yeah I know you don't want to spend but you are at a point where you need to. You have already spent quite a bit on that truck and I can tell you are real close to having it set

Yeah, plus one for medium duty OME spring packs.

Helper springs really don't do much aside from cause problems.

I've probably got similar weight to you (bumper, swingout, GFC, decked, full tool kit, recovery gear, etc) and the medium OMEs are just perfection.

Ouch brother!

Yeah- the stock springs are weak and are known to suffer under weight and/or use. And they're also known to bend around the Eibach block.

I'd go OME or Deavers!

Can you pontificate upon this? I'm not seeing a while lot of nothing when cruising the web.

I think full leaf pack replacement is just out of my budget for a bit, but I need to do something in the mean time.

If I had not scored that decked storage at such a great deal I could probably have swung it. :/

I had the Hellwigs for a second (their PR guy is a friend and forced them on me), they really reduce articulation, you won't have clearance for them below your bump stops, and they won't correct your spring rate or improper proportion of front to rear lift.

I'd just store the Decked till budget allows for the OMEs.

I asked that very question in the towing forum thread that going right now. Well I asked why would someone get sumos vs leafs helpers, have not really received an explanation yet.

Yea but the hellwigs go on top, autospring adds another leaf on the bottom I believe.

Well I just placed an order for the autosprings. I can't really find any problems searching around (even anecdotal ones). I don't know if they still run them, but even peak suspension runs these on their truck. Looks like a gucci to max ride, so I doubt they are going to install something questionable(?).

We have an upcoming trip to Black Rock scheduled in 2 weekends so I need something quick that works.
