Sorry sort of a late response as I no longer have the Ranger.
If you can find one for sale used for around $500 it may be worth it if you like things organized with easy access. However with that said, in my opinion, you actual lose a ton of useable storage space (bed volume wise) with it installed if you have any sort of bed rack installed. I was running an 18" high bed rack and it basically halved by volume capacity via storage boxed stuff and other items (cots, chairs, etc etc). I can imagine storage would drop to near zero for guys running shorty bed racks.
Two drawers organized with items is nice, so really it just depends on the amount of gear you haul. Since my truck was not daily driven I left it configured for instant get up and go fully loaded 24/7.
I wouldn't have bought one new (roughly $1600+) and in my case/hindsight, I probably would have skipped getting it used (paid $500) because of my gear load out.
