My 2020 300A FX4 has the Ecoboost badge and engine cover that ought to be missing according to the spreadsheet. It also lacks the 12 volt console outlet despite having the 120v one. It's an ex-Avis rental truck that has some weird stuff going on in general though, most notably having a fully body colored front bumper without the silver valence that's normal for the FX4, so maybe there are some weird config details that were unique to that fleet order.

2022 XLT Supercrew 4x4 Splash, built 9/8/2022

I studied the list on the first post and found it to be very accurate - for items pertaining to XLT trim. Oh well! The poster who said "The rare person who buys one on a lot will not know" was 100% spot on. I had no clue - and am still happy with my purchase.

I will note, because the Splash XLT has the special upholstering, there is no tilt function on any headrest on my truck. That is ok for me because "The Boss" (my son,) will frequently be with me in the back and he needs a headrest, as do his buddies.

My hat is off to the legend that removed Auto start/stop on my truck. I could kiss you.

That is all!

I can't remember the last time I had a car with struts to hold up the hood, maybe never. The last hood that held itself up was probably with springs. The Ranger not having a prop rod was an unexpected surprise.
:like:
I can't remember the last time one of mine didn't have a prop rod??? '97 Ford Contour, '01 (?)Mercury Sable, '06 Frontier, '12 Fusion Sport, '13 Focus ST.... even the Fords I had from the late 80's / early 90's had the prop rods. Can't remember about my first new car, '86 Mercury Cougar. I think it had springs. I'm so used to prop rods that I don't even think about it.

That said, when my Ranger gets here it will be installing struts! Mod #1. :giggle:

"Huh? I'm not doing anything honey. Oh these? They came with the truck. Saved $20 if I agreed to install them myself. You know with the supply chain and all. Ford couldn't get them in time for the build..."

didn't Ford eliminate the storage tray under the rear seats? Think I read that somewhere on the web while "Ranger studying" prior to ordering.

I haven't heard that one yet but someone with a '22 should be able to confirm it. So glad I had y 2019 that has all these deleted items. :lipssealed:?

Just noticed that my '20 also has the PRNDS backlight, yet another feature it isn't supposed to have. I'm wondering if maybe Ford couldn't delete some of this stuff without messing up their contract with Avis and that's why my truck has the engine cover etc.

This has definitely become a thought-provoking thread. I'm on a different school of thought than most of y'all. I dont think that ford wanted to delete all of these items. I think with the gravity of all the supply chain issues, coupled with historically low interest rates (long gone now) vehicles were MOVING for a year and a half or so. I'd imagine these deletions started happening as parts became unavailable, and rather than angering customers waiting for their trucks for even more time, they decided to delete items that were "unnecessary" and get them in our hands.

We're all complaining that there's deleted items, or that our trucks were late to arrive, or that the dealer didnt PDI properly, or some other gripe we've got.

I for one, absolutely LOVE my S/cab ranger - regardless of any little things being "missing".

For anyone interested, mine's a '20 XLT 302A. I've got everything on the deleted list except passenger floor mounting hooks, but my husky liners came with a 3" claw anyway, so it doesnt bother me one bit.

It sucks some things are missing, but damn, isnt it awesome to have a new truck?

Just for clarity; when you guys say "no PRNDS light" are you talking over the steering column or next to the shifter?

Mine is illuminated over the column but not next to the shifter. 2022 XLT.

Next to the shifter. I think they're all still illuminated on the dash cluster.

That's sad to think all this has been deleted in just 4 years. Some are so minute I can't believe they deleted them but the bean counters have to find something to cut. I was apprehensive to make this list but there were so many threads/posts about what's been deleted I figured it would contain them.
