Can I get the measurement of the lid folded on itself from the bed rail at the cab to the end of the cover? The 2nd to last fold before it has to be locked vertical. See image white line to which i am referring.

I've been wondering about that also - how does it look with the cover removed? Which then led me to wonder if the bulkhead seal could be applied to the cover itself instead of the bulkhead (which means it would be upside down). That way it would come off with the cover when you remove it from your Ranger. Would that work?

@SN 13, Thanks for the detailed review. Looks like the Leer is the tonneau for me. Checking with the "head of finance" and I will be ordering one shortly.

This cover looks very similar to the Undercover Ultra Flex. You mentioned something about the cable actuated latches not being as secured. I haven't seen a detail of how this cover is latched.

Also curious which covers you found that specify they can't be driven in the propped up position?

Good questions.

For the propped open question. I don't know if it was at one of the examples I played with at a Truck place, but I could swear I saw a picture someplace that basically warned not to operate vehicle on the road with the Tonneau propped vertical on the rods. I didn't specifically call out a make/model because I couldn't find it again to confirm. I did ALOT of reading/watching etc over the month between buying the truck and buying the Tonneau.

Next on the cable.

While the LEER uses a cable, it is recessed so you cannot grab it with a wire hanger to "break in".

Also, the cable is operated using a pinch instead of pulling the cable itself....

The pinch has built-in stops so you can limit travel and prevent over-pulling of the cable which can cause the cable to come out of the latches (What i saw on a sample product I tried at a truck shop)

I can get some photos of it later and post them up.

It likely would. Had I thought of this, I would have done it that way myself.

Oh wow, I hadn't thought about that aspect. I appreciate the indepth reply. That one key point has me thinking about going with the LEER over the Undercover. I know locks keep the honest people out but it wouldn't hurt to have that extra step of security.

I'm still fighting with the fitment of this stupid cover the instructions are terrible they don't have any measurements of how far to mount the rails and where the cover should be in relation to the bed. dont have any description of where to use the butyl tape, dont tell you how to apply the toyota foam seal; I've already broken one prop rod lock. the front of the rail has a slight lip upwards which is causing the cover to not sit flat, at the front. you can hear the seal flapping at 65-70 MPH and its very annoying, Anyone who's installed this thing and has gotten the front to sit flat and you take a picture of the rails at the tailgate and where you mounted the cover in relation to the bulkhead I either need to move my rails back or the cover forward or both. I am about ready to pitch this thing for a solid one piece.

Thanks,
Jay

Jason, here are a couple of shots of mine. It’s dark outside so bear with me on the fuzziness. (I can take some more tomorrow if needed.)

If you look at my last pic, the rail should have a section “notched out” to fit around the front of the bed. Mine is back just a little bit from it. Also, I didn’t see a need for any of the foam to be installed, and I had to use the butyl to stick down the front “flap” and that solved the flapping noise.

Placed my order on Tuesday, 10/29, and just got email that they are on back order until the "end of the month" I guess that's the end of November.
Oh well, good things come to those who wait?
