I've been wondering about that also - how does it look with the cover removed? Which then led me to wonder if the bulkhead seal could be applied to the cover itself instead of the bulkhead (which means it would be upside down). That way it would come off with the cover when you remove it from your Ranger. Would that work?I just installed this cover too i need to go back over it Saturday and do some more adjustments on the the latches and install the bulkhead seal will probably have to pull the cover back off. does anyone have a picture of the bulkhead seal with the cover off?
None of ya'll have a measuring tape? hahaCan I get the measurement of the lid folded on itself from the bed rail at the cab to the end of the cover? The 2nd to last fold before it has to be locked vertical. See image white line to which i am referring.
On my install from the outside of the bed frame to that hinge is about 23.5 inchesCan I get the measurement of the lid folded on itself from the bed rail at the cab to the end of the cover? The 2nd to last fold before it has to be locked vertical. See image white line to which i am referring.
Sorry man,Can I get the measurement of the lid folded on itself from the bed rail at the cab to the end of the cover? The 2nd to last fold before it has to be locked vertical. See image white line to which i am referring.
This cover looks very similar to the Undercover Ultra Flex. You mentioned something about the cable actuated latches not being as secured. I haven't seen a detail of how this cover is latched.
Also curious which covers you found that specify they can't be driven in the propped up position?
It likely would. Had I thought of this, I would have done it that way myself.I've been wondering about that also - how does it look with the cover removed? Oh wow, I hadn't thought about that aspect. I appreciate the indepth reply. That one key point has me thinking about going with the LEER over the Undercover. I know locks keep the honest people out but it wouldn't hurt to have that extra step of security.Good questions.
While the LEER uses a cable, it is recessed so you cannot grab it with a wire hanger to "break in".
Also, the cable is operated using a pinch instead of pulling the cable itself....
The pinch has built-in stops so you can limit travel and prevent over-pulling of the cable which can cause the cable to come out of the latches (What i saw on a sample product I tried at a truck shop)
I can get some photos of it later and post them up.
