Mine was never serious. Subtle shift quirks and never any codes. 2022 with 18000 miles and I have a new transmission. If you have any shifting issues even subtle the latest TSB now has a test procedure to confirm issues.
Welp got my appointment, we will see what the stealership has to say.

Just heard back from the dealership. They did determine that my Ranger does in fact have issues discovered by the TSB guidelines. Now I am waiting to see if Ford is going to have them rebuild or replace.

With that being said, I would urge anyone still in 5yr/60k or extended warranty (sorry to the others :( ) to take their Ranger in and reference this TSB.
Even if they seem like minor issues. Thanks @Stevedbvik1 for posting this TSB.

Mine had minor subtle shifting quirks that were nothing like what some people described here but still had me wondering if I had lost the transmission lottery.
I think the biggest one that I rooted out was shifting to reverse, having it hang for 2-3 seconds and then mildly slam into gear.

IMO this really should be a recall item.

I’m glad it’s working out for you. And ditto on the 5/60 or extended warranty people. If you have the slightest hint there’s a potential remedy available now.

This bulletin states at the top it is for the 2022 Ranger. Is it the same for all? I have a 2020.
Amended. At the top of page one is states 2022 Ranger. But on page 2 is states that it pertains to all 2019 thru 2022. Built before date. So I guess I'm answering my own question. Just didn't understand what waS meant by the statement at very top of pg. 1.

Flash it back to stock and get an appointment. What have you got to lose?
FYI Ford tune reduces powertrain warranty to 3yr/36k.

So this is probably dumb and answered a gazillion times ...

Is there any service fee to have these diagnostics run?

I'm going in for my "free" annual oil change later this month and was thinking of asking them.

Shifts aren't perfect, especially when cold but are not as severe as some here where it can takes seconds to engage. But there is some slight hesitation and some harshness, it isn’t buttery smooth but I don't know what to expect (it's nothing like the smoothness of Kate's 2022 Mazda CX5).

So should I ask and should I expect to pay labor to diagnose?

Thanks all (feel free to berate my question, otherwise I may be wondering if I poster on Ranger5G-303 forum!). =p

I literally went in, referenced the TSB and said it was having issues described by it.
Cost me nothing but having the dealership take my truck for a day and burning 15 miles worth of fuel to get a proper readout with their diagnostic tool.
Ive never had a Warranty diagnostic concern cost me anything, it is getting them to actually do it that has been hard.

They are going to pull the transmission out on Wednesday and go from there, all covered under warranty.

Wow! Sounds promising and thanks for sharing your experience on this.

I'll do the same, thanks for the gentle kick in the pants I needed!
