Ya that horn is loud. The seat belt needs to be louder and start sooner. Wife needs more incentive.

I could see my truck while I was mulching leaves with my push mower and the lights flashed two or three times. I really should get on ordering something to fix this!

I just took apart the fob pulled the button out and filed down the pin in the middle of the button and reinstalled the button to the fob = no more honking truck.

There is a video of a guy with a F150 that has the same fob on Youtube and that is where I got the instructions.

Can't believe I found this thread. I was just telling someone about how bad the FOB is. Not sure about Forscan and pushing the button twice, I think it will still be going off.

I had my 2005 F150 from new until I traded it in on my 2020 Ranger and I never ONCE needed the panic button, so I went into Forscan on the Ranger and disabled it completely. (Ranger Pride: IF I ever get rid of the Ranger, I'll go into Forscan and put everything back to stock)...

I fixed my panic button. took the remote apart, removed the button, cut out some thick tape to stick to the back side of button. snapped the button back in place, and reassembled remote. now the tape keeps the button from being pressed. And the remote looks normal.

Here's an option. Found this key fob cover on Amazon. Not made for the Ranger but has worked so far. Cut out the trunk open section with scissors and put on fob. Haven't set alarm off with fob in pocket since doing this.

I had the same problem, bought one of these. $7.99

https://keyprotek.com/collections/k...er-taurus-flex-escape-mustang-4-button-remote

Fit perfect, and haven't had the problem since.

I just ordered 2 of these. Seems the wife has a cluttered purse and every once & awhile the horn will sound when she's searching for something in it.

Also a back story if you will: Once owned a 98 GMC. Had an aftermarket alarm installed. We were driving down the highway and the doors started locking & unlocking & the lights started flashing.

Yep, you guessed it. Keys in wife's purse were activating the alarm!!!
