Seems odd that you'd have that feature back then, and it took BMW until 2019 to get proper remote start functionality in the USA

Agreed. I didn't even know about it until somebody showed me months after I bought it.

Most European cars have it (the window thing). I assume because they don't have remote start, you need a way to not cook yourself before the car cools down.

I would love to be able to roll down the windows like that, don't care so much about the mirrors. Is there a website I can buy that module from since I missed out on the group buy?
