I was trying to get a quote out of my insurance salesman. Not that it's going to change what I do obviously but just for information. After giving him my VIN, he came back and told me it was "so new that they didn't have it in the system yet" (it was just built last week, 12 days to delivery). That gave me a little smile, especially since this is my first new truck experience. Never had that problem before :sunglasses:

Anyway if you're interested, it's going to be right around $500/6mo, full coverage.

I heard the same thing 3 months ago, they still managed to quote me just over 100/month here in Michigan, that's considered fairly inexpensive.

I'm also right around $100 a month full coverage with a $500 deductible on comp and collision.

Don't get me started on the insurance... in MT mine went up and it's now $1047 / 6 months and I even raised my deductible to $1000. ugh.
But hey my license and tags were only $287 for the year. :)

Liability $300k-$500K
Underinsured same
Un-Insured Same
Property damage $100K
$1000 deduct Comp and Collision
Towing etc.
835 FICO
64 age
<5000 miles /year

$635 a year Allstate. $565 2017 CRV EXL

Insurance quotes mean nothing without the information needed for a good quote Like

One's Credit Report
Location
Years of experience
Vehicles accident records (Mustangs are high because they are owned by younger people and crash often)
4WD is more expensive because well Off Road hobbyists can wreak havoc on a vehicle.

A lot of young people with nothing to lose buy minimum coverages. We have to have under insured.

I figure one's credit report is irrelevant as long as the insurance company gets paid!
But they get away with shenanigans like that because we let them!

You guys make me sorta feel bad for complaining since my 2019 Ranger premium is gonna be 40% more than my 2001 Ranger. It'll be $500 for the year with an umbrella and full replacement for the first three years.
They'd better not ask me about miles driven. That's only for antique cars.

Gosh, I feel lucky. I got $474 for 6 months. Full coverage with low deductibles ($250 collision and $100 comprehensive).

I got a quote for mine last month for $240/6 mo for a Lariat CC Sport, which is only $40 more than my '06 Ranger FX4 SC. I have State Farm. This does include discounts for multicar and multiline. I wasn't too shocked, but after reading the posts here, I feel really lucky.

I have 3 cars, 1 camper, a fairly large house, and 40x50 semi "finished" barn all on the same policy. My wife pays 120/month for a 2011 Edge, and I pay 135/month for the ranger. The other car has recreational ins that I have no idea what it costs. Michigan is No-fault, so we get straight robbed on our insurance. I'm 35 and have 800+ credit score, and have never received a ticket in the last 18 or so years. I did have an accident, but (shockingly) enough the insurance was higher before that.

It matters were you live. I live near the southern border where trucks are stolen every day. We have uninsured and and under insured surcharges to cover illegals and people who hit and run. My 6 month premium was $800.

I was surprised that my annual premium went DOWN moving from my 2012 Subaru Forester that had 120,000 miles on it to the new Ranger.

I live near the other border, maybe that's why I pay a little over $800/6 mos? Those darn Canadian car thieves, they leave you flowers and a sorry card at least.

I tried to switch my insurance from my 17 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab LT Z71 to my Ranger supercrew Lariat FX4 on State Farms website and it told me I had to call my agent because more info was needed. I called my agent to transfer it and they said it wasnt in the system so they had to manually enter it. My rate went down $7.30 every 6 months.

$260 Every 6 months, but I haven't had a ticket or accident for over 25 years. That's up by about 150 a year from my '06 Dakota. State Farm
