Did you test the battery with a load? There are cases where the battery shows proper voltage but putting a load on it will cause it to drop.

I had a 2006 civic that would start acting weird when the battery was getting bad. Multimeter and testing it showed it was fine. Then within a week or so it would be completely dead. From that point on I knew just to change the battery when the "weirdness" started happening. Would always be right at the 2 year mark. If I put a trickle charger on it I'd get another year. I have a charger that repairs the cells.

If it makes you feel any better, mine is at the dealership for transmission issues which was already replaced 23k miles ago and radio/acm issues. If the extended warranty doesn’t pull through, this pos is being dumped on a Chevy lot, which is a shame because I really do like the truck but this is my second ford and I’m not putting up this twice in a row. At least this one made it to 100k, barely.

Welp, dealership says it the main junction/fuse box under the hood. Said moisture corroded some stuff and there were some relays etc with bent teeth that weren't functioning.

Hopefully they can get it back to you soon and you wont have any more problems with your Ranger. By the sounds of it you almost got your wish of it burning to the ground. lol
