I'm trying to identify this part. I found it under the on the front passenger floor mat (under the glove box). It's clearly labeled with 'Ford' but I haven't been able to locate what the part goes to in any of the diagrams I've looked at. And I looked all around under the glove box and around where the cabin air filter is, but so far no joy.

Anyone happen to know where it came from?

Very interesting. Can't think of anything it would be used for, this mystery needs to be solved

I just looked under mine and the only thing I can find that looks like that is the plastic housing to the glove box damper. Does your glove box slam down now?

I have a one track mind. lol

I know some have this option on theirs and it was discontinued somewhere along the line. That's the only white plastic piece I see which does connect to the glove box damper system. I guess I got lucky and now have 2 dampers. ?

True, but in this case I think it's a real question. My GB had a damper, some newer ones do not, they removed the damper and light.
For once I was being serious about it having a damper. lol

OP if you look under the dash and there's a string hanging by the side panel that's what it is.

Bingo. It's the Box hinge post. Look at this video, and you will see it when he drops the box. 1:10 minute mark.

That's it! I see the hinge at the back there. Thanks much!

Didn't want to horn in on your thread.

But now that that is settled, how about this one?

Well, I guess I need to do another dive and see what I find. Maybe they were covers removed for the power/heated seat connector.
