I've never had enough flex, even with a wheel off the ground, to push the bed into the cab. Any chance you had ice build-up in-between while you were on the snow pile? I could see the ice, coupled with flex causing denting. I als wouldn't rule out other external factors.

Swapped mine out a few months back. It certainly is a bit worse when it comes to signal strength on FM radio reception. But, I rarely use FM anyway.
