I’m the second owner . I have the records and mileage of every oil change from day one ..it was religiously done by the first owner.
I’m totally ok and am expecting to do the engine or trans some day…it’s worth it for what I paid. It’s got a couple glitches that don’t really bother me much,, like a slight surge when cruising slow in the 50 to 65 kph range.

I’ll be towing with it close to its max rating..that’ll test the old trans out. A full weight GM A body and a Skid steer..both on steel trailers.

one question for you guys…where can I get a paper owners manual? did they even come in the glove box when new? I’m not doing the online pdf thing

The only Owners' Manual available on Ford's website is a .pdf file. You might reach out to a Ford dealer, they may have another way to get a hard copy manual. Also check on eBay or LKQ, a national salvage yard network.

Engineered to last past 150k but I see the weak point being the transmission for reliability.
? hello ,I think if you change oil every 4k ,use full synthetic API SP, SN plus 5-30, let your engine warm before you drive it when it's cold weather, change tranmission oil every 40k don't abuse the turbocharger, heavy foot ALOT,of the time these trucks have a good chance of passing 250k

If you're still on your first tranny...you take the win!

Yep still stock tranny **knocking on every piece of wood I can see**
I'd offer your Ranger to FoMoCo for $3,000,000 so they can back engineer this specimen...please don't tell me you get 35MPG on top of this...

Yeah had to replace the rear axle as the stock one basically came apart and destroyed itself.

83,538 mi on mine. It's going in for fluids on June 12, all of 'em; "if you can pour it, change it:" Works Pkg, 4WD pkg, Trans, Brake fluid, and of course blinker fluid. Plus cabin air filter and tire balance. 30Kmi on the Cooper Discoverer AT3's and good tread life so far, but I have a tiny vibration or judder that drifts in and out that doesn't seem to be in the drive line. No cupping yet, so I hope to correct this before it does.
