After 1800 miles, this 1/2 tank so far is running from Colorado Springs (some in town driving, was 89 octane at Costco yesterday) then back to Raton. According to the dash, it's 25.9 mpg average. Highest was 27 mpg, but ended up with head winds & altitude gains, so it dropped a bit. This was running mostly at 77 mph, dropping into 65 & 55 mph through Pueblo, then climbing again from Trinidad to Raton pass & into Raton. Pleased with how it's running now.

Better fuel seems to give better mpg results. This is at 5,000' elevation & above. Not sure how it would run at sea level.

From home to detroit this am and back this afternoon 80/20 freeway in rush hour traffic. 93 octane screw 4x4. Stock all around. Really upset with the gas mileage. Mileage into office this am was 30.9

Mine is still breaking in, 900miles and thus far 18gallons gets me 470 miles = or 26MPG so much better than the 18.5 I got in the 2018 Taco 4x4 OR

Ugh... I'm only getting 16.6 according to the computer, and 15.2 when calculating at pump. WTF? I don't floor it everywhere, and am really relaxed with it. It's like 60/40 surface/highway. No dealer is going to bother helping me with this are they....

I just put a soft bed cover on mine. Looking in the rear view I can see the down force winds pushing the back 2/3rds of the cover. Did anyone see vast improvements when covering the bed? I'm almost at 20mpg right now at near the break in point of 1k mi.

I’ve averaged 22.0 mpg for the first 3k miles with a trifold hard cover.

I have a hard folding bed cover and it didn’t make any difference in mpgs.
Almost 9k miles and consistently get 23 in town and my one tank on a trip got me 26.
Numbers are calculated and within .8 of what the truck figures.

There's no reason to think a bed cover will significantly improve fuel economy on a modern truck. Might even make it worse.

From my '04 F-150, I saw maybe ~0.5mpg difference, but it's small enough that I don't consider it a change, just a variance in calculations.
