Sorry to bust your assumption....but I drive it as hard or as normal as anyone else, mainly in the busy city on I-95 else in the everglades. I take it miles out in the everglades on the narrow levee's bumping and skidding all over the place, hauling a 12ft fishing kayak. I do this twice, sometimes three times a week--day and night. Some of them levy roads are a challenge for 4x4's let alone a 2wd with a locking diff. Yet I still maintain the mileage that I posted, yes sir, and that's a fact.

Is that near Lake Okeechobee? I grew up in Homstead and spent a lot of time in South Biscayne Bay, the Keys, and the Everglades. All my old friends built swamp buggies 6'- 8' off the ground, and air boats. Also looks a lot like one would see around the Tamiami Trail west of Miami. That's as far north as my stompin grounds went.

We'd occasionally head over to a deserted island on the lower west coast that we had to wait for low tide to cross over to, and spend the day swimming and having a picnic with our girl friends. My friend and I were both in high school... He had a Chevy blue 57 Chevy Nomad, and I had a deep green 57 Chevy Bel-Air 2 door coup. On our last visit over there, a sheriff's deputy came rolling down the beach in a jeep as we had our grill out cooking, slid to a stop and asked us what we were doing. We replied that we were having a picnic! He told us to enjoy ourselves, but to never come back. Said the island was being developed by the Mackle brothers, and that we were now on private property.

I haven't been back to Marco Island since, but friends tell me it is quite developed and upscale. I kinda liked it natural.

Very cool! I travel those levees all up and down south central Florida, Okeechobee included. Lot of the levees go for miles. I go as far as the marsh area and Kenansville north of the lake. I know very well the west coast and those deserted islands...well, not so deserted anymore lol Back in the day they were very pristine, same with Marco, used to be like a ghost town there, all quiet and private with pristine beaches, crystal clear water....bulldozers took over lol I have a house over in Safety Harbor near Clearwater, so I go over to the west coast often.....a ton of traveling in the Ranger!

What can I say, nearing the 95,000 miles mark on my 2019 XLT and all is good...or should I say absolutely fantastic! I've had zero zip nada...not one single issue with this truck. It has seen the worst of roads. In fact, I drive it weekly off-road down here in the Florida Everglades. The engine is perfect, runs just like the first day off the show room floor. I've had no issues with anything else on the truck, either, not one single hiccup. Everything is functioning as good as new. I've performed routine maintenance with regular oil changes through my local dealer, the works package which includes tire rotation. Everything on the truck is bone stock, including the tires. Gas mileage is holding steady at 26.5 on the rural roads of Palm Beach County, going back and forth to work--city driving. Not bad at all! Can't ask for more as far as reliable is goes, imho. Both my previous F-150's had some issues by this point. And I've heard of horror stories on here from others with their Rangers but I just can't see any of that happening with this truck here. Knock on wood or just good luck or maybe my driving style, all is holding steady. Hope the same with others!
2022 was a rough year for my truck, but I'm fairly certain it was all self-inflicted. 65k miles and I'm pretty happy with it. Almost weekly off-roading up here in Tampa, but everything is working beautifully. I'll probably hit almost 90k miles this year.

Now if my 50lb dog would just stop jumping on the center console....

Blew a piston ring and got a new long block, then had to deal with the bugs that come with an engine swap for the next 6 months. Some electrical issues and lost 4WD for a minute, but all were resolved. It did some swimming in Richloam, but I'm not so sure that was the cause. Fluids were all normal in the following oil change - I'm thinking high engine speed is the culprit. Part availability was the biggest hurdle. Dealer mechanic was an absolute champ and swapped the engine in a day.

I'll hit 20k mi on the new engine this month, so I'd say things are going well! My buddy with a Tacoma refuses to let me move on from this one though lol

That bites...glad you got things sorted out long block and all! They're good trucks from the get-go and each one of these trucks seem to experience highs and lows, depending of course on how they are driven. I haven't as yet experienced any of the major issues as some have on the forum, knock on wood. Hopefully I'll report back an all good at 150k...if I still own it lol

Zane, congrats on the great report! My 19' Ranger is almost at 97K and I can report the same....except the mileage.

Which brings me to your wonderful gas mileage.....
The ONLY way you are getting 26.5 miles per gallon in your Ranger is driving that thing like a granny.....

That is not meant to be an insult.....just a fact....

Hope you get at least another 95K out of that transmission......I'm hoping for the same.
There are only two types of drivers in Palm Beach County, grannies and crazies. Guess which one I was!

Oh lord I guess I lost second place now too…. Damnit!
85k here and well my experience has not been going as good as everyone else it would seem. Most issues have been fixed but I’ll mark the ones not fixed:
ABS went down
Power steering went down
Fuel gauge went down (not fixed)
Rear axle eats sensors
Transmission shutters from 2-4 (not fixed)
Spark plugs rusted
Torn E brake cover
Parking sensors ghost beep(not fixed)
Moisture inside fog light (not fixed)

on the bright side, my valves have been good thanks to my catch can, my battery is still stock and going strong, and the tail gate goes down as smooth as Sean Connery 007.
Repeated flushes, sensor changes, tuning, etc for many of the fixes.
Your post is an example of why the location line in your signature being more than just USA would be helpful. Wheel sensors failing are often a rust related issue.
My truck is used mostly in a desert environment. Had zero problems so far in about 10,000 miles.
Are you in the rust belt or do a lot of driving on ocean beaches?

Nope, it has only been driven in California. Not a rust issue, 100% a rear axle issue sadly

Apparently the computer system is so intertwined, when something like a speed sensor goes out, it triggers ABS and power steering. Saves the F’d data and then it stays turned off. I cleared all memory with a tuner and by the third eaten sensor it seemed to fix it.
I had my right rear sensor go out and it automatically triggered abs and power steering and replaced it and was fine for a few days then the same things started happening. I just got used to it but ran forscan recently and it says wrong component installed on left rear. Guess I need to change the left rear abs sensor? How did you know your abs sensors were bad?

Welcome to the club, we have pot lucks every third Wednesday of the month haha. So I found about mine talking with a parts guy at Ford. I told him the issues and he seemed to know right away it was the sensor (I wonder why ? ) anyways, I went with the oem part and that lasted a month. Went with a Napa auto part, lasted a week, and then I went with a standard auto one from rock auto and it has lasted four months thus far. I’ll see if I can hunt down the part number for you. ?
