Not sure what the XL/XLTs are like, but on the Lariat that piece is body color, not silver (I guess unless you have a silver truck). The image on the Ford builder site was wrong when I built mine.

Timing is everything. Put the mud flaps on yesterday... the local county boys ran us through some fresh yellow paint today.

The WeatherTech mud flaps did a great job of keeping the paint off the painted panels of the truck.... but it took me an hour and a half to get the yellow paint off the mud flaps and the inner wheel wells. And speaking of wheel wells, why in heavens name did Ford use that indoor/outdoor carpeting material for the front wheel well liners:question:

Better cleaning there than the paint, but still not fun! I think they use those liners for noise reduction.

Are the seat backs easily removable for extra space?

October 10, 2019: License Plate Brackets, Hitch Cover and USB Cable

I got tired of my music thumb drive sticking out into the storage area... so this cable moved it out of the way. The other advantage: You're plugging devices into the cable, not the port in the truck. So when the cable wears out from plugging / unplugging devices into it, you just replace it the cable. Easy Peazy.

Wait, you have one USB Sync port?! I have two there...what going on?

I think the XL only gets one.

Thanks for the hitch cover link, I’d like to get something like that. Does your tailgate hit your rear license plate frame?

I had to point out the license plate bracket issue to my dealer, and had them take them off my truck.
