Little bit of an update
Picked up a rental today. Ended up being an 25 Escape, and of course it has ASS. Forgot how much I hate that feature. Think Enterprise would get mad if I turned it off with Forscan

Going to revise what I think happened with the squirrel and my truck. The babies in the first pick in the OP are to big to have been born on top of my engine and there was no mess there. Plus I found a nest in the front yard that from the last storm that came through. So a desperate mom chose my warm engine to get out of the storm.
Mom made bad choice.

Yeah, it’s not a pretty sight. Don’t worry, they usually come back.

Maybe we could start a new thread…”My Ranger Parked on a Flatbed Tow Truck”

Dang, for some reason that thread is off limits to me.
What'd ya do:question: 🤨

Too many late night drunk postings on there?

Seriously, I just looked and no one's restricted from that area from what I can see. You can message the Admin and see if he can fix it for you. We (Mods) are limited to what we can do and see.

Just open your Direct Messages and to the right click "Send Direct Message" then under Recipients start typing in Administrator and it'll come up. It must just be a software mistake.

New update:
Finally got an estimate on the repair.
Ford decided to just continue on with the wiring repair that I started. They stated it would have been much more costly to replace the harness and given where the damage is and the fact that I had already repaired over half of the chewed wires. I'm sure the insurance adjuster probably told them to repair it too.
They said the main harness is repaired and just waiting on a pig tail for the coil to come in and I should have the truck back by the end of the week.

Went ahead and told them to change my transmission fluid while they had it since I'm close to 60k on the clock.

Yep, good old Insurance companies. At that cost, I'm not sure I would have turn that in.
Most companies count ticks or claims. Some say two and then increase premiums.
Hope everything works great for you!

We started the claim before we knew the cost or I would of just paid out of pocket. Of course we needed a rental so I could get to work. My wife needed her car for doctor stuff.
Plus I convinced myself that the dealer would just replace the harness instead of repair.
Seemed to be a common thing with repairs in the past. For instance I had grease being slung out from the boot on the front drive shaft of my Ranger. And Ford decided to replace the whole shaft instead of the boot.
