TW recommends #1, as far as I can see. I’ll check this out when I get to my computer and see what I can figure out. It appears the TW linked grease is discontinued as I can’t find it anywhere.
I do have 4.88 gears.Thought when I did the critical speed math it was like 110mph with 3:73 gearing not 90mph, which is where the limiter is already.
Then again @Colo_Ranger wheels so hard he's regeared his whip so his critical speed is probably like 55mph...

Mobilgrease cm-L, Grease, NLGI 1, 14ozCome on... that's just a fun title.
Anyway - I have the Tom Woods driveshaft and its time to lube the slip joint. Tom Woods recommends Phillips 66 Multiplex 220 #1 but is sold out. I tried searching Google for alternate retailers but they, too, are sold out.
I read online and Super Lube seems like a good option. Is there anything else I should be looking at? A mechanic friend recommended silicon based, but TW recommends calcium sulfonate. Google is coming up short on options in calcium sulfonate so... I am taking other opinions.
If you've used a good grease, I would love a recommendation.
That’s number 2 grease. TW recommends #1. The link won’t hold the choice of 2 vs 1, when I paste it here.I selected the text and right click "Search Google" and come up with this:
https://www.google.com/search?q=Phillips+66+Multiplex+220+#1&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS1097US1097&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
https://www.amazon.com/Phillips-66-Multiplex-Grease-1082342/dp/B09WCJZ239

Or procreate. Hopefully he hasn't already polluted the gene pool. Some people just should not be allowed to own a vehicle.

Don't worry about brands, just get NLGI #1, industrial supply shops like Grainger and maybe HD truck shops will have it.TW recommends #1, as far as I can see. ok, thanks. When I started this thread, I was looking for experienced recommendations, but my research has lead me to this conclusion. Amazon has Mobil1 NGLI #1, so that’s probably what I’ll go with.Don't worry about brands, just get NLGI #1, industrial supply shops like Grainger and maybe HD truck shops will have it.
I didn't take you for being new around here.... But I guess I was wrong. ? ? ?This thread needs a warning label![]()

I am not sure I'd want to take my truck, much less his, above 90mph with all the... treasure... strapped to it... ?Thought when I did the critical speed math it was like 110mph with 3:73 gearing not 90mph, which is where the limiter is already.

The Mobil brand that I recommended is #1, not #2. It has the same specs as Phillips or any other brands, and is readily available for much less. My experience is that it is hard to find a tube for less than $20.Don't worry about brands, just get NLGI #1, industrial supply shops like Grainger and maybe HD truck shops will have it.
