It's possessed:eek::)
im considering that possibility lol. Ya know, even as a mechanic there are things that I have witnessed with mechanical things that completely puzzle me and even people i know who are more knowledgeable than me can't explain them. Kinda like how rope or fishing line can form the craziest knots that seem impossible. When these things happen I find myself fixated on finding the cause.

IMHO, Using the running boards when getting into the ranger I seem to hit the headlight switch when getting in. This causes all sorts of hate and discontent when I shut off the vehicle, some times with out putting it in park (I've driven manual for most my life), and then I get to play "what did I not do this time" when I'm exiting.

same here i'll shut it off and hear the doo doo doo and be like wtf? then see the headlight switch has turned from auto to on. I have also left mine in neutral a few times once was at a store and when I realized I did it my heart sank at the thought of my truck rolling across the parking lot! Funny story which that made me think of, my grandpa who lives with my aunt is getting senile and his favorite past time for a while was plowing with her 1993 chevy z71 which she loves. Its standard and he would sometimes forget and leave it in neutral and without the parking brake. She lives on a big hill and the truck rolled but somehow instead of going down the big hill it rolled across the road and took out the mail box. That poor truck has big dents and scratches all over it from him forgetting. The stories are funny but really it's also really sad because he was such a good driver and a great person and now he's just fading away.

Like Sarge said, I think it's when using the running boards to get in that it happens. There's no way my knee is gonna touch it otherwise.

I use the running boards to get in and never hit it. So I just went out to the garage to see how I was getting in and if I could actually try and hit the switch...Nope! ;)

Left foot on the running board, left hand on the drivers door grab handle, right hand on steering wheel and pull on the steering wheel while pushing off with my left foot and placing my right foot on the floor and lowering my butt into the seat. My seats pretty far forward as I'm short (5'7") so I guess all of you that are hitting it have these long ass Giraffe legs. :LOL::LOL:

With which foot do you step on the running board?
Left, I assume? try stepping up a little further back?
The SuperCab has a longer door , maybe it has this problem less often?
So maybe if you put your left foot more even with the seat back, your right knee won't be as far forward?

All of my previous vehicles have also been manuals. I constantly have to stop myself when I reach over to the shifter pulling up to a stoplight. And even yesterday, after having my truck for 5 months now, I still moved my left foot to push down on a pedal that isn't there. haha At least I'm not slamming on the brakes anymore with left foot with the same force as I used to push to clutch. Really tested out the braking system a handful of time there in the beginning. haha

the ranger is my first auto also (not counting wife's cars) and I find myself doing the same sort of things, but if I switch back to a manual I'm like "wtf" and feel like a one armed paper hanger. worst of both worlds. :frown:

Ok so its us short guys who step out with one foot first and then the other because I hit it on exit with my right knee.

Left foot braker???? I am so used to heal and toeing that I just keep left foot on the floor... That said, I do miss the double clutch downshifts I loved to do with my 07 Ranger.

Ya i just have to modify how i get in. I get in kinda weird because I hurt my back in the military. I put my right foot on the running board(after market round bars) and then put my left leg forward up on the door jam (i think that's what you call it, its where it says ranger) and swing my right leg behind my left as I pull my body in. It's after I plant my left leg on the door jam and I am pulling my body in my left knee hits the bottom of the knob pushing it counter clockwise.

Is anyone else SUPER FRUSTRATED by the location of the headlight switch. Nearly every time I get in and out of my truck my Knee hits it and I turn on my headlights!!

I hope they move it somewhere else!

Yes I have several times.

My Colorado had the dial in the same spot and I hit it a few times too.
