I like the look of my 2020 Ranger but 2 things bothered me.
Yesterday I fixed one of them. (And my first mod)
I had the ugly silver valance and front skid plate wrapped in matte black.
Huge improvement IMO.
Let me know what you think.

Yeah I agree, had mine off a couple weeks ago to replace the lower grille that got busted last winter. While off I painted mine matte black. Didn't do the skid plate, but that is next. Definitely looks much better.

Any problems wrapping it? I took mine to two shops for quotes, one said $180 which seemed a bit high.

The other said they couldn't wrap it and would have to spray it with Plasti-dip. Which just seemed wrong

Looks MUCH better
I noticed they trimmed around the parking sensors.
The silver dots don't look too bad, but I am afraid in person my Ranger OCD would go crazy

Not sure what you mean. The OP doesn't have the front parking sensors. When I painted mine I just pulled my sensors out and used a black Sharpy to color in the center dot. Looks like it was ment. To be that. I'll get a picture and post it.

Thanks lee
I missed that on my phone - I thought I saw 3 dots and then realized there are only 2 sensors! LOL - I was seeing the skid plate bolts!
Yes please post pics of yours. I agree on the blacked out or Magnetic packages the light grey parts look out of place!

my wrapper guy who does my work logos told me that vinyl wouldnt hold up there over time. rock chips etc would be the killer of it.

Ive avoided doing it since. but am considering removing it for paint, but not rattle can paint. I'm going to do epoxy for longevity.
I had same concerns over a wrap.
Damn years a go there was a paint called Bumper Black(for painting metal chrome old school, not the vinyl crap). Sprayed on really nice - looked like powder coat. I used to paint almost everything on my CJ5 and the stuff was bullet proof.
Tried googling for it - but everthing today is how to restore your now gray plastic bumper to black.
Might try THIS

I think it's great that you like it. ;)

Food for thought:
If you had bought a bottom of the line XL, it would look just like the way you modified it.

I like the contrasting silver on the skid plate... but then again I hate black wheels too. I'm a boomer, and It's a boomer thing: contrasting colors and chrome meant you ponied up additional money and bought the better edition of the vehicle, not the stripped down version.

The wrap will be a maintenance nightmare, since the parts are silver. Every rock chip will look silver.

Well guys, me personally, I like the way it looked before. It gave it contrast and broke up all the black. Not that it looks bad now because it doesn't, but I wouldn't have minded that at all. But hey it's your truck, so if you like it, it's all good.

$180 was my price. I wasn't thrilled but the final appearance makes it worth it.

Planning on switching out the bolts if I can find black ones. Or black caps for them.

I tried to buy a black valance but it's not available in black for my trim.
I asked the Ford dealership about painting it (just to get a baseball price) and they told me to wrap it instead. Will hold up much better.
So I took it to a paint shop I trust and they refused. Told me to wrap it. Said it will resist chip and damage much more, last longer, look better longer.
Time will tell, but I'm happy with the result.
