It’s a Wrap!

Hey Patrick, quick question. Did you remove the shark fin from the roof or just wrap around it? I'm getting ready to do my roof and hood and I'm torn. I really don't want to pull the headliner down but I know wrapping around the fin will be a PITA.

I kept it on, I just carefully cut a slit at the top of the shark fin, so that I could work my way down to the roof, I really took my time but I still ended up with a longer slit! I ended up patching a piece over that area it was small, but I wanted to ensure it was covered! Not hugely noticeable but you can see where I’ve placed a overlapping piece If you were to look closely! But I suggest going slowly with a small cut and slowly work your wrap down while trimming more until you get the entire wrap down! The wrap is stretchable so it’ll give, heat it up while doing it! I finally finished the full wrap long day 14 hours in the garage doing the doors and handles!! Fingers are destroyed, eyes red and need to get some zeeeeeesss!!! But I’m glad I can finally take this guy off-roading!!! Last thing will be to rebadge with the fx4 decals! I got some all grey and black!

Where did you get the sun visor that says ranger on it? How much?

Hmm. I typically just use the MagicShades that fold easily into smaller circles. I find them to be less of a ClusterF than the typical shade. How well do those fold and store in your truck?

BTW, nice wrap! Big fan of the color you chose.

I like these because they definitely keep all the UV out especially out here in sin city (LV). They don’t fold down too much but it’s only me and my girl so the back seats are more for gear! And thanks!!

No I kept it on and wrapped around it. I sliced a small slit at the top and than worked the wrap around the fin. Work it slowly down and make the slice bigger to the hole on wrap. The wrap will stretch, so you can stretch around the fin!! Be sure to tape up the fin so that you don’t leave cuts from the blade. Good luck

I purchased around 60ft x 5ft (500 bucks) I messed up a few times, once on the hood, this was the first wrap I attempted and also on the tailgate. I have a bunch of smaller pieces left, next time I do it, I’ll learn from my first attempt and I should be able to conserve and utilize as much of the wrap paper as possible.

I'm blown away with how awesome that wrap looks "out in the wild". You've got me thinking about wrapping the full body on my Hot Pepper Red with a more matte finish red.
