Youll be extremely impressed with the upgrade from stock to the 2.0s. We have been testing those 2.0s out on our Ranger for a little while now and love them!

Looks good. I have the Eibach Coilover kit as well. Been in my closet for a month now. Debating on 2.5” or 3” lift but understand it would be better to get UCA’s. That’s the only thing holding me back. How do you like it so far?Just wanted to update. I decided to go with the Eibach Pro-Truck coilover stage 2 with rear shocks and BDS uca’s. Install was a snap and pretty simple, just took my time and enjoyed my Saturday. Want to thank you all for the great input/suggestion, it helped a lot. Also a big thanks to Frank at Stage 3 Motorsports for giving me a great deal on everything and shipping stuff out so quick. I took it for a 10 mile drive afterwards and could immediately feel the positive results, namely no more horrible brake dive. Alignment Monday morning then just drive it and enjoy.![]()

Just to give you a second opinion I just had the Eibach coilovers installed a couple months ago. I had then set to 2.5" and didn't do any new UCA's and it's been fine. I just did a 5,000 mile road trip and off roading a few times and I love them!Looks good. I have the Eibach Coilover kit as well. Been in my closet for a month now. What’s going on AZ. Did you add a block to the rear or did you just replace the shock? Also what tire setup do you have? Love it ! Drives/handles like a different truck now, free of all the annoying Ranger handling issues from before. I set the preload to give 3 1/4 “ lift. The UCA’s were easy to do since everything was apart and the BDS were at a good price. They come with good Moog ball joints, not uniballs, which I believe to be better for areas where salt is used in the winter.Looks good. I have the Eibach Coilover kit as well. Hey Chris, I just replaced the shocks and didn't add any blocks to the rear because I don't really haul anything to heavy or tow so it sits perfect the way it is. The tires are Nitto Ridge Grapplers 265/70/17 on the stock wheels with no wheel spacers. What’s going on AZ. Did you add a block to the rear or did you just replace the shock? Thanks Duke ! I have all the fine folks here to thank for sharing their installation experience that I read up on before starting. I work as a mechanic for a living so some of it was standard operating procedure, but stuff like pushing the axle out of the knuckle saved a lot of grief.Hey Rob,
Completing a job like this is so rewarding. There’s so much I like about your approach here…
If you hadn’t taken those steps, your install likely wouldn’t have been a “snap”. Even if nothing went wrong, if you hadn’t removed the heavy calliper and rotor, it would have been a PITA wrestling the knuckle and upper ball joint back together. When it’s done the way you did it, that knuckle is so easy to work with - best extra two minutes of work ever!
- double jack stands
- calliper and rotor removed
- calliper zip-tied to the ReadyLIFT beam
- axle nut removed
??
That is good to hear. I was looking into BDS UCAs as well. Did you add a 1” rear block as well? I have a 3” rake that is why I don’t think I would need one.Love it ! No block in the rear. I had the same rake as yours and now it sits about 1/4” higher in the front than the rear. I think you would be pleased in the construction of the BDS. They are extremely well built. Hit up Frank here at Stage 3, I’m sure he’d cut you a great deal. This photo was taken after my alignment. That is good to hear. I was looking into BDS UCAs as well. That looks great set up like that!! As much as I love to detail my truck I wouldn't want to have to take care of it though. lolNo block in the rear. Thank you ! I’m very pleased with the results. Yes black is a pain in the butt, but it sure looks great when it’s clean which lasts about 5 minutes. That looks great set up like that!! As much as I love to detail my truck I wouldn't want to have to take care of it though. lol
