They are crazy expensive. I didn't read all posts here so this has likely been said.

The OEM tie-downs and bolts are rated to 600 pounds I believe.

That means it's a bit more than a bent piece of stock and some bolts. Heavy-grade bolts made for a specific torque to meet the rating.

I'd rather have Ford fail me in case I ever ratchet something in that rips out and causes an accident.

That said, it's all on your use and expectations. I expect them to work as Ford intended.

But it's your truck and only you ultimately decide how to use it.

Lame lower level Ford employee probably used this outrageous number to justify removing them in the first place. There is no way that cost that much in a tub of 200 brackets and 400 bolts.

Knowing my luck I would be pulled over during a torrential downpour 😂
That just turns free car wash day into free interior wash day

or

Cops in your area get out of their 4 wheeled rain coats when it's raining?

Do those screw into any oem threaded holes in the bed?
Yep M8 by 1.25 thread size. is standard.

now there are 2 hole sizes in the bed. the hold downs are M8. the 3 holes on each side almost hidden by the tailgate are M6.

I have 2 of the above loops at the top front of the bed for easy reach hold down point as the actual tide downs are far to reach even with steps.

"If the wipers are working I'm not"

But seriously I tell the guys under my supervision if we are getting a good amount of rainfall to go park their asses and get off the road unless dispatched to a call.

I used m8 eye bolts , a bolt, couple old lug nuts and nut. Works great for straping down spare tires. The bolt goes through the eyes so its putting stress on two at once more like the factory item.

My Roll-N-Lock cover pretty much covered up my front Ford tie downs. I moved them to the middle and bought a 10 pack JCHL Cargo Tie-downs from Amazon. Put 4 in the front 4 holes and 3 on each side of the bed. Worked for what I have needed - so far.

Are those D-rings split under the clamp? Or welded/solid ?

So the bag of bolts I ordered from Amazon arrived yesterday. I gleefully went out and began screwing one in, tightening it with a screwdriver through the eye.

It broke.

How the heck do I get that bolt out now??

It looks like you have enough of the bolt to grab it with a pair of vice-grips and undo it

Example of why I would just pony up the $$ for the real tie down brackets. What if that broke while something was attached too it, then it flew out of the truck bed :(
I'll try but I was torquing that bad boy hard when she split off.
Did you clean the bolt hole out with a tap first? You need to do that with the spray in liner, to get the liner out of the hole. You should not need much force to screw the tie down bolts in. (Your picture doesn't look like the hole was cleared out?)
