Hey all,

Looking for some help/advice before ordering tires. My current setup is a 21' XLT Sport with Fox 2.0 coils. I'm hoping to fit 285/75/17 AT tires on stock wheels and haven't been able to (clearly) understand what it will take. As far as I've read, I need high intrusion crash bars and to cut the egg crates. Am I missing anything? Thank you in advance!

Yes, your just removing the egg crates. You will still get a bit of rubbing in and out driveways.

Thank you! Were you able to fit the spare back under the bed?

I run the same size; here is what I did: I removed the front and rear crash bars, removed the waffle boxes behind the fender liner, secured the fender liner to one of the bolt holes used for the waffle boxes. I run 1" wheel spacers on OE wheels. I have also cut back the crash bar mounts (and I need to cut more as I kiss them on full turns).

The spare will fit. I have a 35x12.50r17 in the stock spare location. Be sure to add an additional safety strap as the stock spare tire winch cannot handle the weight of an oversized tire. Otherwise, you’re good to go.

That's super helpful! Looking forward to doing some cutting this weekend.

THANK YOU! With my luck I most definitely would have been having fun on the highway trying to retrieve that spare had you not said that.

I run 285/70/17 range E 80lbs + with wheel and tire never had a problem with spare but might add a strap now. Thanks couldn’t hurt for additional safety

Is it the 75 that will rub?

Currently not rubbing at all. 285/75/17 Toyo R/T Trails.

Also same size spare is now under the bed of the truck.
