Hi all,
I bought a brand new 2021 Ranger and now a brand new 2025 Ranger, both velocity blue.
It's really neat owning two generations of the same truck and wanted to share some thoughts with everyone here.
In my case, the 2021 was actually rock solid over my ownership duration. I want to remark on some differences:
What I preferred in my 2021:
- I had a base trim STX, it was basic but functional, very good tactile controls for all features inside
- Steel front bumper
- Higher trims got more painted panels including the whole bed, rear bumper, etc.
- Folding rear headrests
- Paint quality is better than my 2025!
What I prefer in the 2025:
- I got a Lariat this time, so the features and appointments are nicer, especially the interior
- All the technology such as self driving, fancy headlights, etc.
- The ride is better, not necessarily quieter, most of it is wind noise at highway speeds
- The new 2.3L MPC is such a mighty beast. The old 2.3L was sluggish to respond, sometimes clunky when changing gears.
What are your thoughts?
