I saw those Level II's on the lot when I bought my FX4 new back in 2003. Those were the top of the line Rangers, and they were still under $30,000. Boy, those days are long gone.

I definitely saw the difference from the height to the width. I have some friends and family that want me to do a side by side photo with my 01 Ranger when I get my new Ranger.

Looks like the new Ranger is about 25-30% larger than the previous truck. I can handle that!

Never noticed how unnecessarily large the taillights are on the 19's.
I would say the old generation was unnecessarily short. I like the taller bedsides and tailgate, it holds more cargo. And the taller tailgate effectively makes the bed longer when it’s lowered, making it better for hauling long cargo pieces (like drywall sheets).

The lower part of the tail light holds the radar (for Blind Spot I believe).

I'm also liking the deeper bed. A few more inches means a lot of my stuff will now fit under the tonneau cover.

The taillights are the only part I have been unsure of from a stylish standpoint, but I'm sure they look better in person. A lot of taillights look a little bulky now with the addition of radar for the blindspot mirrors so it isn't the only one. I think the new Ram integrates them the best.

Thanks for posting the visual comparison...surprised how much bigger the new Rangers are! Even bigger than I imagined.

I think the taller tailgate makes it look a lot larger from the rear. From the front I think they look more similar - the new one is obviously somewhat wider - I just checked and an '05 was 70.3" wide and the 2019 is about 73" (without mirrors). So the 2019 only appears to be about 3" wider. Checking the track width shows similar differences - 58.5 vs 61.4. I was thinking the new one was more like 6" wider - I'm glad it isn't. The whole reason I have a Ranger rather than an F-150 is due to the size. The F-150 is just too wide for me.

I was curious about a Dodge Durango I was detailing in my garage...hear me out. It had separate metal body part around the wheel wells and now I see the same feature here on the new Ranger. I didn't understand why the truck was designed with a separate metal part? Maybe...To remove if you wanted taller tires or run snow chains? If they rust, you could just replace that part? It is a curious design feature evidently being employed by more than one truck manufacture, since 2013?

Wow look at that fat a$h. Looking at the front they don't look that far apart. Get to the rear and I'm like OMG. I saw one in person and it didn't seem they big in the rear but there wasn't an older model beside it either.

It still looks better than the back of a Colorado. To be those are raked up so much they remind me of a cat sticking their ugly butt up in the air when you scratch them near their tail.
