So, I haven’t seen anybody make this post. I did a search on all the forms and I couldn’t find anyone with this problem. Just today I was offroading my truck, just some light offroading. Seriously, nothing major.
All of a sudden, my coolant temps go through the roof. I immediately shut off the truck and goes to the front and open the hood. That’s when I noticed fluid, coolant leaking all out from the bottom of the engine bay. After a little bit of discovery, we found that there was a bunch of holes around a dent. Now, we believe this dent came from the fan hitting it.
Unfortunately, I’m really not sure how the fan even made contact. Maybe the engine mounts are bad, but with the vehicle only having 22,000 miles you wouldn’t think that would be possible.
so, like I said she’s sitting at Ford right now waiting to be looked at. Hopefully it’s covered under warranty, but I’m kind of nervous about the offloading thing. It got towed out when it was all still muddy so they’re probably gonna try to pull something on me. Yes I’m modified, yes I’m lifted. But honestly, this should have nothing to do with the engine. I have zero engine modifications, only a tune. Which I made a point to take it off before they towed it away.
Hoping all goes well, if anybody ever had this problem, please let me know.
