I was driving to a class when it happened, so it had to be towed.
I'm a dick, so I'm just being myself.

As I was accelerating to merge onto a main road, I heard several misfire pops from the exhaust (the only indication I had that something was wrong) then heard a considerably louder pop/bang, then a similar sound to gravel being spun in a metal cylinder.
Immediately had a low oil pressure message come up on the dash, check engine light, and the fans came on. I proceeded to coast into a parking lot, shut the truck off and called a tow truck.

A tune would have no way of influencing water intrusion, as that is a physical occurrence, not electronic.
Could a tune affect other aspects of the truck? Obviously. This was deemed a water intrusion event, so I will respectfully disagree.

Water intrusion from where though?! If from the head gasket of cylinder block or cylinder head after the engine exploded, sure. From the so called problem you speak of, I'm going to call Bill shit as that water never made it to the combustion chamber.

I don't think the XLT came with the engine cover, as I've had 2 and had to purchase the cover separately.
For a time the Lariat trim level came with the cover, though.

2019 XLT did. I know because I had one myself. The OP has a 2019 as well. What he did is go to OZ for a Tune vs most everyone else using Livernoise, Unleashed or 5 Star.

If all he was told was water intrusion, then yes, it could easily have been a head gasket. I can't fathom how the wet plug hole caused this.
