Amazing how RP did the re
We seem to have squirrelled away from the original question. OP, did you get it fixed? RP has your answer. Should be a 10 minute project, not intrusive at all.
Well, actually, the OP mentioned this in post #1

Not a fan of the locking tailgate at all and wondering if there is a way to disable this? I saw a couple ideas to take the tailgate cover off and dissconnect the solenoid, but wondering if there is a less invasive way to stop it from locking.

You live on a Farm and want to "prep work" for the next day. Yet you live in Seattle and can't leave anything unlocked? These two statements are at odds with one another.

Sounds Ike somebody should've sprung for intelligent access.
That's what I was thinking. Do meth heads really venture out so far as to even see a farm? I suppose if they're looking for a goat, to get laid, then that might happen.?

He already said he doesn't live at the farm, not many people live where they work. Where I am I'm 45 minutes from Boston and 45 minutes from farm land. The meth heads are everywhere, not just cities, the days of leaving your door unlocked anywhere are long past.

This is true everywhere. Especially in the west. You guys on the east coast should never come out here looking for wide open mostly crime free spaces.

Not many.

I live in Colorado now.

Wheat mostly for sure. I get a little offended when people say "..out there with all the corn..."

"Ummm, no, that's Nebraska."

I grew up in the Wichita area and worked my fair share of wheat harvests as a youngster. As I always say, "it's a good place to be from."

Glad for you that you only spent a year there. Did you work in aviation?
Sure did as a rookie engineer for Boeing

Well, I live in city, work out of city. That said, there actually are meth heads out by the farm as they can live in the woods without worry I'm guessing. I see them all the time but never had interactions. The in-city meth heads are the real issue for me.

My fault, between it being your farm and talking about prepping work for the next day I ASSumed you live there.

I grew up in Kansas and work at a dairy. I know a little bit about farming. ;)
It's all good! I was not very clear on what I was meaning.

Haha! Can I come work with you?

Also, if you have Hulu, check out the three part documentary called "Sasquatch" about a mass murder on a N. California weed farm that was supposed to have been done by a bigfoot (sounds riduculous but was an interesting documentary about the marijuana farm lifestyle there).
