First of all I appreciate for y'all's helping for my last questions.
Now I see that I need more practices and better tires for appropriate roads. Not adding something.

This can be similar topic but regardless of previous topic I want to build mine for overlanding.

But my ranger has no FX4 nor Tremor package. So it doesn't have locking differential. However, for going to offloading trip is locking differential crucial?

If so where can I get the parts from? I've been looking but couldn't find so far I'm assuming the most people they picked that option when they bought their ranger or not, what else can I add on my ranger to go to off-road step by step?

If someone can help me this with that would be much appreciated.

I saw your last post, the thread was pointing towards having 4x4 to start with. You can add lockers, ARB has an option for 19+ Rangers that are around $1k. I saw someone here posted that he added the ARB locker for $3600 parts + install in California.

Are locker crucial for going OffRoad? Not necessarily but can be helpful in certain situations. I was able to go many places woth my 2019 without a locker. That said a locker would have sill been nice for certain things. If goung aftermarket like ARB it will require an air compressor. If you do the factory e locker you will need to source another axle from a FX4. Regardless it wont be cheap. That said it would be in your best interest to head out onto the trails and see what the Ranger can do and see what you might want to consider for the next change.

someone may have mentioned it already but with the 5g rangers fancy wheel braking traction control system a locker is not needed as often as they were years ago. i have the locking diff and rarely use it. this video explains it. just ignore the part about it being a jeep video lol. jeep ford nissian and other makers all have a similar system https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxjNYR5QsWX0SNHunvXZuCNmGt18Rg1ajM

Really helpful. Tactically I'm stucking in Korea for another 2 years because of my assignment. But I also want to set my truck up for overlanding. I know my mechanic but I just need parts. But since you said locker is not the essential then I can wait until I get back to states. But is there else maintenance parts that can helps for overlanding? I've seen people who love offloading they customize shift, suspension, diff locks and etc. Seems like they are not essential at all as per your experiences. But any recommendations?

I say wait until you can enjoy the truck. No sense in putting money into it if you cant enjoy it

I agree. Nothing is special. But reason why I'm asking wanted to confirm if that is true. Because I never been to offloading so if systems such as diff locks, terrain mode, suspensions, etc.

But I appreciate you for resource that I can refer to.

the ranger 4x4 without the locking differential is still a competent vehicle off road and will be lots of fun.

It would be easier and cheaper to source a used rear axle with locker. It doesn't have to be from an FX4. There are other Rangers, even some 2WD that came with lockers.

I have wheeled many vehicles, I eventually installed a rear locker in all of them. But honestly they are not needed until you really start to push it. Dont go alone and bring straps. This way you can test the limits and get pulled out. By not going alone I mean have a 2nd vehicle not just a copilot lol. Unless they are really strong.
