I have an XL, but with my STX, I get the XLT gauges, which I prefer to the lariat gauge. The analog tach is important to me!

I like my XLT dash for the most part but do wish there was a couple more screens for vehicle information. I sometimes tow a small travel trailer and explore the desert on a regular basis.

Screens showing coolant temp, oil pressure, oil temp and transmission temp would be nice. My JL Wrangler had those screens and it was very handy. I was surprised the Ranger does not have them.

I have always preferred the digital speed display as it allows instant knowledge of what your speed is without having to ‘interpret’ what the analog dial is telling you.
unfortunately, with my Lariat dash, the digital speedo display uses the same display side as the Tach display. With the speed being displayed the tach function can be displayed as a side portion of the display but is hard to see at a glance. Grrrr!
I wish there was a way to move either of those functions to the right hand display screen as it is pretty much wasted.

I prefer the analog gauges. It was one of the reasons I chose the XLT. I didn't like the Lariat gauge cluster at all.

I'm in the analog tach and speedo group. XLT for me.

I liked the Lariat dash vs the XLT and that was part of why I bought the Lariat

I like both but do prefer the Lariat. Just wish I could put the digital speedo on the right side since I tend to drive with my left hand in the way most of the time. Right screen is hardly used.. I have Sync 3.3 and the right screen shows the name of the song playing , and I like that I can see recent calls and call people back from there as well.. but it would be killer if it could do everything the left screen did.

I almost went with the XLT because of the dash. The digital layout of the Lariat is inefficient and awful. I have to switch screens while driving too much to know what I want to know. The right-side screen is nearly useless, since the entertainment info is already on the big screen. I'd like it if they would create a new left screen that included:

Tach
What gear you are currently in. (like when you are in sport mode)
Fuel
Miles to empty
Temp
Oil pressure (which doesn't exist anywhere)
MPG, current & average. (the current screen marked in 15 mpg increments is dumb)

Move the lane assist to the right side, which goes to waste most of the time.

I've noticed that while in Drive you can press the minus button on the shift once to show the gear lockout list without actually locking anything out (takes 2+ presses to start locking them out).

Still would rather see this elsewhere like you're suggesting, but I wanted to mention it.

True, and I always do turn that "tape" style display on. It's just annoying that I almost always have to activate it. (Sometimes it's up when I start, sometimes it isn't) The other problem with that display is that I'm nearsighted and wear glasses when driving, it takes too much effort to focus on the small numbers to see what slightly highlighted gear it's currently in. I'd much prefer the larger #s that appear on the tach when in sport mode. I don't know why that isn't just always on. Also, it's silly that when you do go into sport mode, that the tape display disappears.

The comment about the little numbers....

If I have a real peeve, it is not being able to see what gear I'm in (sports mode, manual shifting), except at night.
