Can somebody tell me if the temperature knob (far right) is supposed to be illuminated with an orange LED indicator? I could swear mine “blew” fifteen minutes after i bought the truck, but local dealer tells me that is not so.

On mine...
The only light in the RH Temp control is the backlight which ia a very light blue .
The temp lines are lit by the same light, as is the little whitish position tab.
In other words it appears to be just like yours.
I have just over 9000 miles on my truck and I had to go look at it just now to get your answer

The orange light comes on when you turn the knob to the *far* left or right for max heat or max ac! I think yours is fine. Try it out and see!

I missed that.
Pretty obvious actually, thanks for pointing it out, nice feature but...
Not much use for those little indicators since the noise nearly drowns out the radio! :giggle:

Every time I drive the truck I wonder.......

It is translucent, and so it is lit by the backlight and clearly visible in daylight without the backlight.

Clearly? Come on Floyd, look at the picture. See all those bright yellow lights? That's "Clearly".

You're right I guess, but I'm officially an old man and I can see it day or night.
Fact is Right is warmer, left is cooler, so I don't really even look at it much.
I do know my wife likes the dual climate control on the TC.

My Pinto has levers with no lights in them, just one incandescent backlight for the whole panel.
When I drove them as work vehicles I just adjusted them seasonally.
One of the 10 best cars in history!
