Yeah 6-7 grand as previously mentioned. If it’s drivable wait until parts come in where ever you take it, yeah sure they’re gonna want to keep to make sure they’ve covered everything. Or maybe the major components and then let them have it. It could be months..

Was on my way home from the dealership and I got rear ended, everyone is fine. Got home and found out the driver side of the bed is wrinkled up to where a new bed will probably need to be installed. Wasn’t my fault so her insurance will take care of it but was wondering how much it could cost them to replace the bumper, light, tailgate, and bed itself??

I'm not sure how it's done on a Ranger. My dad had similar damage on his F150 and they replaced only the outer sheet metal on that side of the bed, and bumper. On the F150, the outer sheet metal is glued in place, with a few fasteners.

I think the crappier question is how much of your life will be wasted getting this sorted out. Even if the other persons insurance is paying for it.... I freaking HATE dealing with the time lost to someone else being a dumbass.

Identical situation happened to me exactly a year ago, either I have the worst luck or it’s just bad timing. It took months and months for everything to be settled

Don’t know if it’s possible but I was considering just getting an aftermarket bumper, especially if insurance covers it. Anyone have suggestions? What’s a good price point for an aftermarket rear bumper?

That’s what the insurance appraiser told me what’s going to happen to mine

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Anytime you get hit in the rear its the other drivers fault, unless you brake checked them and they can prove it, like a dash cam video. Her insurance has to cover it less your deducible.

When my Genesis coupe got smashed the body shop let me pick out an aftermarket exhaust. I only had to pay the 37 dollar difference between that and the stock price.

WOW, this must be going around... Parked on the street in front of my house last Thursday (8/25) and this... left no message... "hit and run". Not as bad as
PresFinch2's (think he will need a new bumper) but still $600 all in. Top plastic bumper cover is ~$164 and the little trim cover was ~$24, the rest labor. Ordered the parts on Monday, ready to install on Wednesday but could not get there till today, 8am, done by 11am.

My truck had the same exact hit last year minus the tow hitch and the cost ended up being about $2700, they basically replaced the bumper core, painted the drivers insert magnetic gray and the damaged plastics, backup sensors and paint/ blended a small scrape behind the bumper in the corner.
