Hahaha thanks all for the reply.

Yeah not really worried about any scratch. This is what my previous vehicle usually look like when out of the bush and it hasn't rain in a while.

FairwayFordparts.net takes Fordpass points for online orders. Email Nate and he makes it happen.

I got a touchup pen for my truck for free basically. Check your paint code but assuming its the same as mine its:

So will say that I wasn’t happy about this and am not sure of the best way to fix it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Apologies on the 90 degree counterclockwise rotation.

Try looking up some mobile paint repair guys. Many of them do really great work. You can usually get a referral for a good one from full service detail shops and body shops. A repair like this may only run you a couple hundred bucks. I have had this done on my wife's car a couple times and the guy did a fantastic job. She's notorious for catching the same area on those concrete pillars in parking garages.

They will wet sand the area paint fill the scratch, blend the area and reapply clear coat. Then it's just a matter of wet sanding and polishing to get it to look like it was never there.

If you feel confident on doing the repair yourself, you can get a kit with matched pain from https://www.paintscratch.com/.

The finger lick I assumed.

But you should never touch dirty paint at all. Let alone rub said dirt accross the finish. Would you wrap fine grit sandpaper around you finger and run it down your paint?

I'm a little OCD about it, myself. I can hear the paint scratching when I push the fuel door to open and the truck is dirty.
The painted outside cover on my fuel door fell off when I went to push it in to get some gas a few weeks ago , its not secured very good at all to the hinge basically some locking plastic tabs is all that keeps it on the hinge.

First it's a scratch. Next it will be time for an oil change, and then new tires will be due.
Best to just trade it in and get new stuff. :like:

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I like to know a little about everything. But in the end I wind up knowing JUST enough to be dangerous.

Folks over on the Mustang Forum swear by "Dr. Colorchip". I've not used it so I can't confirm, but many say it works.

Now I've got something else to worry about when fueling up.

Dr. Colorchip worked on my Mustang and my Escape. It is not perfect but it looks a heck of a lot better than a scratch.

Yeah I read enough early on that the aeroskin ii was purchased early in the game along with the bushwhacker rocker panel protectors.
Do you have pictures of your Bushwhacker protectors? The website doesn't show what they look like on our trucks specifically.
